Job summary

Adecco India is seeking an experienced IT Manager - IT Asset Management to lead SAM and HAM governance, optimization, and compliance across global operations. The role focuses on driving asset visibility, licensing cost reduction, and data quality within ServiceNow environments.

You will partner with IT, Procurement, Finance, Security and regional teams to implement robust ITAM processes, ensure audits readiness, and deliver executive reports on performance and risk.

Qualifications

• Proven experience establishing and governing ITAM frameworks in large or global organizations.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern enterprise-wide IT Asset Management policies, standards and governance frameworks.
• Establish end-to-end lifecycle controls for asset requests, procurement, deployment, support, retirement and disposal.
• Lead governance forums, audits and compliance reviews to ensure ITAM standards.
• Act as business owner for ServiceNow SAM and HAM capabilities and requirements.
• Oversee software licensing governance, renewals, audits, true-ups and optimization initiatives.
• Govern enterprise hardware assets lifecycle, inventory, deployment, disposal and replacement strategies.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager - IT Asset Management (ITAM) to lead and govern the organization's Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) functions. This role is responsible for ensuring that IT assets, software licenses, hardware devices, and associated processes are managed effectively, compliantly, and efficiently throughout their lifecycle.

The successful candidate will drive ITAM governance, operational excellence, compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement while serving as the business owner for ServiceNow SAM and HAM modules. They will work closely with IT, Procurement, Finance, Security, Facilities, Regional IT teams, and external vendors to enhance asset visibility, optimize licensing costs, improve data quality, and strengthen governance across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

ITAM Governance & Strategy

• Define, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide IT Asset Management (ITAM) policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Establish and enforce end-to-end lifecycle controls covering asset request, procurement, deployment, support, retirement, and disposal.
• Drive accountability across IT, Procurement, Finance, Security, Facilities, Regional IT, and business stakeholders through well-defined governance structures and RACI models.
• Lead governance forums, audits, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to ITAM standards.

ServiceNow SAM & HAM Ownership

• Act as the business owner for ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) capabilities.
• Define business requirements, workflows, control mechanisms, automation, self-service capabilities, and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with ServiceNow technical teams to implement and optimize asset management processes.
• Ensure platform adoption, workflow effectiveness, reconciliation accuracy, and continuous improvement of ITAM capabilities.

Software Asset Management (SAM)

• Oversee software licensing governance, entitlement management, renewals, audits, true-ups, and optimization initiatives.
• Ensure software license compliance while minimizing organizational risk and financial exposure.
• Develop strategies for software utilization optimization, license harvesting, and cost reduction.
• Manage vendor licensing audits and remediation activities.

Hardware Asset Management (HAM)

• Govern enterprise hardware assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Ensure accurate inventory management, tracking, deployment, maintenance, retirement, and disposal of IT assets.
• Monitor end-of-life and end-of-support assets and drive replacement strategies.
• Promote sustainable asset disposal practices and environmental compliance.

Data Quality & Compliance

• Own asset data quality within ServiceNow and other asset repositories.
• Define data standards, ownership models, reconciliation processes, and validation controls.
• Ensure high levels of accuracy, completeness, and reliability across CMDB and asset databases.
• Maintain continuous audit readiness and drive remediation of audit findings.

Risk, Financial & Vendor Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate licensing, compliance, operational, contractual, security, and financial risks.
• Partner with Procurement and Finance on budgeting, forecasting, renewals, and supplier performance management.
• Optimize IT asset investments through cost-control and asset utilization strategies.
• Ensure contractual agreements support organizational governance and compliance objectives.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and develop teams responsible for SAM and HAM operations.
• Mentor and coach team members while building ITAM capability across the organization.
• Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple business functions.
• Deliver executive-level reporting on ITAM performance, risks, compliance, and improvement initiatives.
