Job description

Do you want to pioneer the people strategy behind the e-mobility revolution and lead a high-tech manufacturing powerhouse through its next phase of hyper-growth? Step into the boardroom as Chief Human Resources Officer in Pune to architect culture, command IR, and scale a world-class workforce from the shop floor up!

Role : Chief Human Resources Officer

Sector : Manufacturing (Automotive & Industrial)

LOCATION : Pune (Bavdhan)

DEPARTMENT : Human Resources

EXPERIENCE :28+ Years

The Opportunity:

We are a rapidly scaling, innovation-driven manufacturer specializing in advanced powertrain solutions, industrial motion technology, and electric vehicle components. Headquartered in Pune, we are at the forefront of the e-mobility and industrial automation revolution. As we enter our next phase of hyper-growth, we are seeking a visionary Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to build, scale, and lead our people strategy. If you are passionate about shaping the culture of a high-tech manufacturing powerhouse and driving human capital excellence from the shop floor to the boardroom, this is your canvas.

What You'll Own
  • End-to-end HR ownership for the automotive component supply business spanning both plant operations and corporate functions.
  • Drive workforce planning and manpower budgeting tightly aligned to production volumes, shift patterns, and capacity ramp-ups.
  • Own the talent acquisition strategy successfully navigating shop-floor hiring at scale while spearheading leadership and specialist recruitment.
  • Lead employee relations and industrial relations (IR) managing union engagement, grievance handling, and ensuring rigorous compliance with labour laws and factory regulations.
  • Drive the performance management, compensation & benefits, and rewards strategy aligned to retention and overarching business goals.
  • Own learning & development initiatives building technical, safety, and leadership capability across the entire workforce.
  • Lead robust succession planning and leadership development for critical plant and functional roles.
  • Drive HR compliance and statutory requirements overseeing Factory - Act adherence, labour codes, safety protocols, and absolute audit readiness.
  • Own employee engagement and culture-building initiatives across a dynamic multi-shift, multi-site operation.
  • Partner with plant heads, production, and quality leadership as a strategic business partner acting as a proactive driver of business growth rather than just a support function.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing HR team across all plant and corporate HR domains.
What You Bring
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA-HR is highly preferred).
  • 20+ years of progressive HR experience within automotive, component manufacturing, or heavy industrial/engineering environments.
  • Strong, hands‑on experience with industrial relations and unionized workforce management.
  • A proven track record in executing high-volume shop-floor hiring and strategic workforce planning.
  • Deep, practical knowledge of labour laws, factory compliance, and statutory HR requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying HR systems and processes at both the plant and organizational scale.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management abilities — highly comfortable and effective when partnering with production, quality, and senior business leadership.
  • A deeply data-driven approach to workforce metrics, including attrition, productivity, engagement, and cost per hire.
Bonus Points
  • Experience setting up the HR function for a greenfield manufacturing plant from scratch.
  • Direct exposure to EV (Electric Vehicle) or advanced automotive component manufacturing environments.
  • Certifications in HR analytics, IR/labour law, or organizational development.
  • Demonstrated success managing HR functions through periods of rapid scale-up or multi-site expansion.
Why Join Us
  • Impact at Scale: Shape the foundational workforce strategy behind an innovative business that is scaling rapidly.
  • True Autonomy: Enjoy full ownership of the people function — this is a key leadership mandate, not a shared-services role.
  • Strategic Seat at the Table: Work directly with plant and business leadership on pivotal decisions that map the future of the company.
  • Reward & Recognition: Benefit from highly competitive leadership compensation and the ability to exert real influence over organizational direction.
