Job summary

R2R Consults is seeking a maintenance lead to manage manufacturing, maintenance operations, and energy conservation across plant facilities. The role involves coordinating preventive maintenance, supervising a multidisciplinary team of engineers, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will drive improvements in machine performance, manage budgets, and interact with senior management to align maintenance activities with production targets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and organise preventive maintenance for plant and utilities.
• Ensure efficient steam, power and water distribution with minimal downtime and losses.
• Maintain machine history and analyse breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Lead a diverse team of engineers to ensure smooth department functioning.
• Attend management meetings and implement QMS, EMS, EnMS and OHSAS requirements.

Job description

Key responsibilities attached to the role:

Manufacturing

• Responsible for target Quality production in line with Business requirement
• Define finish for the product according to product receipt at time of development
• Develop/explore process and align with cost effectiveness
• Responsible for articulating & maintain shade standards.

Maintenance Operations

• Plans, schedules and organises a preventive maintenance system for the plant and machinery and utilities.
• Generates and distributes steam and thermic fluid efficiently and ensures that Boilers and Thermic fluid heaters run with minimum downtime. Ensures minimum leakages.
• Receives and distributes water after softening efficiently and ensures minimum losses.
• Treats the water and comply with pollution control norms.
• Receives and distributes power efficiently at a good power factor and to ensures uninterrupted supply of electricity for the Plant.
• Provides Air-conditioning services at the right temperature and humidity to Spinning, Weaving, and Folding. (Chhindwara - Club House and Guest House etc.
• Plans, Schedules and implements energy conservation measures for steam, power and fuel, by implementing the RCRA report on fuel and other ideas generated within Dept.
• Plans and executes projects in the mill and Vijay-Gram areas with in the required time and cost.
• Devises ways and means of controlling cost so that cost of maintenance is minimum.
• Identifies reasons for low productivity & defectives and takes necessary corrective action.
• Conducts daily checks for necessary action on :-(A) Shift reports (along-with the shift-in-charges)(B) Production & quality reports (C) Hank efficiency (D) Idle spindle (E) Down time & overtime (F) Humidity (G) Break-downs & machine stoppages.

Management

• Maintain the Machine history cards for Equipment, plant and machinery and update it from time to time. Analyses the breakdowns and minimise it.
• Ensure minimum overtime in department.
• Ensure safety practices are adhered to in day to day work of the department and contractors.
• Schedules and organises a preventive maintenance system, to ensure down time of the textile processing machinery is minimised.
• Generates, distributes and supplies Utilities such as steam, power and water efficiently and uninterrupted.
• Prepare Annual Budgets for various Cost Indicators of the department , Prepare Capex Plans
• Monitor inventories stores/spares.
• Guiding maintenance in-charge to develop new spare parts for better functioning of the machines
• Attend Daily perch meeting, BM meeting, Weekly production meeting and meetings with seniors and top management as and when required. Give required feedback to all concerned, make action plan and follow up for implementation.
• Implementation and follow up of QMS , EMS, EnMS and OHSAS standard and requirement.

Stake holder management

• Responsible for guides, motivates and leads a team of qualified and experienced mechanical, electrical, civil and instrumentation engineers and to ensure smooth functioning of the department by proper co-ordination between the various functional heads, to achieve optimum output from the plant and machinery.
• Prepare Targets for various performance indicators in line with Companys/ Units goal, Action Plan, implementation and its periodic review.

Team Management

• Set and Review KRA of self and subordinates by discussion with seniors and Subordinate. Make action plan and follow up to achieve goals.
• Evaluate the performance of Subordinates.
