Qualifications

• Full-time degree in Engineering or equivalent (AMIE) or Diploma in Mineral Processing from an AICTE-recognized college.

Responsibilities

• Process Raw Coal throughput by achieving target feed rate in operation hours as per AOP.
• Achieve Prime & Secondary Products in quantity & quality as per AOP by monitoring loss analysis and implementing Daily Management.
• Achieve operational cost by optimizing process consumables as per AOP.
• Data analysis & process optimization.
• Drive improvement and capacity upgrade projects at Washery II level.
• Compliance with all statutory and legal requirements, IMS Standards and the safety standards laid by Tata Steel.
• Build and monitor systems to mitigate hazards and risks in the process.
• Prepare SOPs; conduct toolbox meetings and departmental communication meetings regularly.
• Improve shop-floor training effectiveness by introducing visual SOPs involving shop-floor personnel.

Role Description

• Process Raw Coal throughput by achieving target feed rate in operation hours as per AOP.
• Achieve Prime & Secondary Products in quantity & quality as per AOP by monitoring loss analysis and implementing Daily Management.
• Achieve operational cost by optimizing process consumables as per AOP.
• Data analysis & process optimization.

Skills

• Develop short/long‑term annual business/operation plans.
• Review compliance to annual plans, cost and quality targets, and suggest mid‑course corrections.
• Review compliance to QEHS; achieve target feed rate in operation hours per AOP; monitor loss analysis and take corrective action.
• Improve separation efficiency of coal fines.
• Maintain CC shift ash in the target range; maintain CC shift moisture < 12.5 %.
• VBF operation, coordinate with maintenance; maintain middling ash in the planned range; optimize consumption of reagents & magnetite per AOP.
• Zero discharge of plant effluents outside 1s and 2s of the plant.
• Reduce water consumption and conserve resources.
• Implement Safety Excellence Management System and Contractor Safety; ensure safety of self and all manpower in the plant.
• Build and monitor systems to mitigate hazards and risks in the process.
• Prepare SOPs; conduct toolbox meetings and departmental communication meetings regularly.
• Improve shop‑floor training effectiveness by introducing visual SOPs involving shop‑floor personnel.
• Ensure a safer working environment; implement total safety at work sites per company norms.
• Improve skill and knowledge of people; foster high‑level innovation and implementation.
• Drive, review and monitor continuous improvement initiatives; initiate professional development for employees in Washery II.
• Involve and train people on TQM and “Continuous Improvement” philosophy; knowledge of TQM philosophy such as Daily Management, TPM, TBM, CBM.
• Continuous improvement initiatives – involve shop‑floor staff in self‑initiated projects, small‑group activity, suggestion management and knowledge management.

Operation Expenditure Management

• Monitor operation cost monthly and keep it within the targeted budget.
• Plan spares and periodically review operation spares.
• Establish processes to ensure that all ARCs/AMC spares are renewed on time.

That Drives High Performance

• Plan and implement necessary training and development, mentoring initiatives to upgrade current skill levels in the department.
• Collaborate with HR representative to handle any HR issues of the department.

Other Details

Additional Responsibilities

• Management of human resources for electrical and instrument maintenance at the Wash Plant to build an engaged, competent team.
• Facilitate/enable departments to take corrective action on time to control cost.
• Inventory and compliance of R&M.
