Job summary

GRASIM INDUSTRIES LIMITED ( ADITYA BIRLA GROUP) is seeking a mechanical maintenance professional for its spinning department. The role involves maintenance of spinning, after treatment, bailing and drying machines to ensure target quantity and quality of VSF is achieved during shifts.

The incumbent will work in a challenging environment with corrosive gases and chemicals, coordinating with maintenance technicians and CMT engineers to reduce downtime and optimize MTTR/MTBF in the spinning line.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance of spinning-related machinery.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in heavy industry.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Regularly conduct toolbox talks for safety.
• Maintain tools & tackles records and ensure compliance with lifting tools requirements.
• Coordinate with stores and vendors for spare parts and materials.
• Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and SAP PM entries.
• Plan and execute skill development and manpower management.

Job Purpose

Implementation of Mechanical maintenance activities of Spinning, after treatment , bailing and drying machines during the shift to produce desired Quantity and Quality of VSF

Job Context & Major Challenges

Job Context

Spinning Department produces VSF by regenerating cellulose from viscose through spin bath followed by imparting necessary treatment like washing, de - sulphuring, bleaching, acid wash and finishing before dried and bleached for despatch. Varieties of VSF are produced to meet the requirement of customers in various segments like Cotton, Polyester, Acrylic and 100% Viscose yarns. Entire process from spinning to bailing has been organised in one single continuous process line having more than 1500 rotating components. Entire atmosphere comprises of corrosive gases, acid liquids and various other chemicals.

Grasim pulp & fibre business has grown over a period of last 50 years and has matured in terms of cost, quality & productivity. Today Grasim Viscose fibre is branded as `Birla Viscose’ and is considered as most environment friendly textile grade viscose fibre known for its feel & comfort.

Grasim SFD Nagda has 11 lines of total capacity 415 TPD. This position is responsible for 4 nos out of 11.

Major Challenges

• To reduce leakages in metering pumps, Idle positions, Recovery Trough.
• To be in Track with allocated budget.
• Improvement in cutting performance
• Optimization of Services and Spares.
• To provide facility for storage of Spare and allocation of Spare Rooms for Spinning
• Assisting maintenance technician in all mechanical activities in Spinning.
• Assisting them in solving their problems related to other department.
• Appreciation of technician for keeping their high moral value.
• Assisting Technician and CMT Engineer for Spinning related issues in odd Hours.
• Implementation of Capex scheme & Overhauling jobs
• Implementation & compliance of SAP PM function

KRA2 Spare Management

To ensure the availability for critical spares 1.Maintaining Master Spare List of Machine and tracking of it in scheduled way

KRA3 LLF Practice –Training /Devlopment

Monitoring of all equipment to be done on LLF basis. 1.Monitoring of equipments as per LLF check sheets

• Monitoring of oil condition.
• Training for self & workmen’s

KRA4 Preventive/Predective Maintenance/SAP PM Module

PM Compliance Of Spinning & Recording in SAP 1.To Complete Regularly PM Notification In SAP

• To perform preventive maintenance schedule & execution.
• To ensure NDT checking & corrective action as per report of NDT
• Preparation& compliance of WWA,RCA,MOC in SAP

KRA5 Reports preparation/Manpower Management / Handling

1.To plan & execute Skill development plan.

• Ot entry in the system
• Preparation of Cutting performance, Blade performance, Stores issue, Lubrication oil consumption report

KRA6 MMD

• Coordination/follow up with stores
• Inspection of incoming goods 1.To ensure timely delivery of material through coordination with MMD & Stores.
• Dimensional inspection of incoming material as per drawing.
• Interaction with vendors for development
• Indent file –Quotations comparison
• Vendor bill entry
• PR preparation/Inventory monitoring.

KRA7 Revenue Consumption Optimization

To initiate various activities for optimizing revenue consumption 1.In house Maintenance Development

• To optimize the consumption ratio
• To reduce rework & improving productivity in services.

KRA8 Reduction in downtime/Breakdown/MTTR/MTBF

1.To attend general shift & odd hrs breakdown as per report of CMT

• to plan & execute developments to improve MTTR,MTBF,& OEE

KRA9 Customer Satisfaction -Understanding customer

requirements and translate them into actions to be implemented at Department level.
