The Opportunity
We are seeking a visionary Head of Design & Engineering to lead the complete technical function for large-scale Solar EPC and BESS projects—from pre‑bid stages to final commissioning. The candidate will own all design deliverables, drive technical innovation, and lead/build a world‑class multidisciplinary engineering team. Already KSL has a team of full‑time 10+ engineers in design/engineering and also works with 2 industry experts.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Design
- Lead Engineering: Oversee all design and engineering functions for utility‑scale PV plants, hybrid systems, and BESS.
- Pre‑Bid Excellence: Prepare high‑quality pre‑bid designs, layouts, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and energy yield assessments.
- Simulations: Perform PVSYST simulations and generate detailed reports for system performance and bankability.
- Optimization: Ensure all designs are optimized based on site‑specific conditions and client requirements.
- Component Evaluation: Evaluate modules, inverters, transformers, batteries, PCS, and EMS for techno‑commercial optimization.
- Costing: Prepare accurate costing sheets for solar PV and storage systems; support BD and Tendering teams with technical documentation.
- Standardization: Build internal engineering systems, manuals, templates, and a centralized knowledge base.
- Cross‑Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Project Execution, Procurement, and QA/QC to ensure technical alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Client Engagement: Attend technical meetings to understand requirements, present solutions, and address queries/clarifications.
- Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with MNRE, IEC, CEA, and DISCOM standards.
Requirements
- Education: E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Power, or Energy Engineering.
- Experience: 10+ years in utility‑scale solar design and engineering, with specific exposure to hybrid projects and BESS.
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of PVsyst, AutoCAD, ETAP, Helioscope, and STAAD Pro.
- Core Skills: Proven track record in tender analysis, cost estimation, and comprehensive design documentation.
- Leadership: A mindset geared toward building and mentoring a high‑performance engineering team.

Compensation
CTC: approx ₹25,00,000 per annum
