Systems Engineer – Utility-Scale Solar Electrical Design

The Systems Engineer – Utility Scale Solar Electrical Designwill be responsible for the electrical design, standardization, and technicalevaluation of utility-scale solar PV projects for Enerparc India. The roleinvolves developing optimized solar plant designs, supporting technical duediligence, evaluating key electrical components, and coordinating withcross-functional teams during project development and execution.
This role is primarily focused on utility-scalesolar engineering. As Enerparc continues expanding into hybrid and energystorage projects, selected candidates will also have the opportunity to betrained and upskilled in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and advancedhybrid plant integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain standardized system designsfor PV and BESS including SLDs, layouts, and control philosophies.
- Perform technical assessment and component sizingfor PV modules, inverters, batteries, and PCS.
- Support system integration studies, including AC/DCcoupling configurations, control logics, and operational modes.
- Prepare and review tendering specifications, employerrequirements, and design packages for Solar, BESS components and hybridsystems.
- Conduct energy yield assessments (PVsyst), lossanalysis, and design optimization to support commercial and pre-bid teams.
- Review and validate electrical studies includingload flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination.
- Coordinatewith grid interconnection and protection teams for compliance with CEA,IEC, and IEEE standards.
- Lead technical evaluation and qualification ofsolar and BESS component vendors.
- Review test reports, certifications (IEC, UL, IS),and field performance data.
- Participatein factory and site inspections (FAT/SAT) and ensure compliance withdesign and quality requirements.
Technical Analysis & Support
- Conduct Solar and BESS techno-economic studies,evaluating performance, sizing, and lifetime degradation.
- Review and benchmark OEM proposals for performance,safety, and reliability.
- Supporttroubleshooting and post-commissioning technical investigations.
- Work closely with Pre-Bid, D&E, Quality, andProcurement teams for design alignment and cost optimization.
- Continuously update design standards based on newinverter and BESS technologies.
- Providetraining and knowledge sharing within the engineering function on hybridand storage systems.
Requirements
- Education: B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech inElectrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Renewable Energy.
- Experience: 5–8 years in utility-scale solarPV electrical design and engineering, preferably in IPP or EPCenvironments.
- Strong understanding of utility-scale solar plantdesign principles.
- Proficient in PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVCase, ETAP, andMS Office.
- Working knowledge of standards: IEC 62933, IEC62109, IEEE 1547, IS 16221, CEA Grid Code.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical,problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Adaptability: Able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic renewable energy environment.
