Job summary

Timsy Studios in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Solar Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Solar PV design and engineering. The candidate will lead design activities for utility-scale ground-mounted projects, develop PV layouts, DC/AC designs, and coordinate with civil, structural, SCADA teams to deliver complete plant designs.

Expertise in PVsyst, AutoCAD, IS/IEC standards, and BESS integration is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Solar PV Design & Engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and PVsyst for detailed design work.
• Knowledge of DC/AC systems, HT/LT, BESS, cables and protection.
• Experience in utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects.
• Understanding of electrical SLDs, layouts and design calculations.
• Familiarity with IS/IEC standards and grid requirements.
• Strong coordination and team-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of utility-scale Solar PV projects.
• Prepare and review PV layouts, stringing layouts, inverter layouts, and BESS design.
• Develop DC/AC electrical designs, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations and routing.
• Prepare and review SLDs, equipment layouts, cable schedules and drawings.
• Perform PVsyst simulations, generation analysis and energy yield calculations.
• Prepare and review BOQ/BOM and technical specs.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, SCADA and electrical teams for integration.
• Review designs for IS/IEC compliance and client requirements.
• Handle client/consultant comments, design revisions and approvals.
• Review and guide junior design engineers and ensure timely delivery.
• Support technical discussions, design optimization and project execution.

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of utility-scale Solar PV projects.
• Prepare and review PV layouts, module/stringing layouts and inverter layouts , BESS Design.
• Develop DC/AC electrical designs, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations and cable routing.
• Prepare SLDs, equipment layouts, cable schedules and electrical drawings.
• Perform PVsyst simulations, generation analysis and energy yield calculations.
• Prepare and review BOQ/BOM and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, SCADA and electrical teams for complete plant design integration.
• Review designs for compliance with IS/IEC standards, project specifications and client requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects.
• Good understanding of electrical SLDs, plant layouts and design calculations.
• Knowledge of applicable IS/IEC standards and grid requirements.
• Strong communication, coordination and team-management skills.

Qualification

B.E./B.Tech Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred: Experience in large-scale solar projects, BESS integration and international projects.
