Job summary

TekWissen Group is seeking a Hardware Asset Management Advisor in India for hybrid work to own end-to-end server asset lifecycle across data centers. You will manage planning, deployment, maintenance, refresh and decommission of hardware assets.

You will track EOL/EOS milestones, maintain CMDB/ServiceNow records, coordinate data sanitization and disposal, and oversee vendor contracts while identifying cost optimization opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of enterprise server environments.
• Experience with hardware lifecycle planning.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow HAM/CMDB.
• Vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of data center operations and dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of server hardware: purchase planning deployment maintenance refresh decommission.
• Track end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-support (EOS) milestones and drive proactive refresh planning.
• Maintain accurate server records in CMDB / asset management systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Coordinate deinstallation, data sanitization, and disposal in compliance with policies.
• Vendor management: oversee OEM and third-party support contracts, renewals, and cost strategies.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities (e.g., right-sizing coverage) and mitigate risks of aging hardware.
• Ensure critical production servers have appropriate support coverage aligned to SLAs.

Server Lifecycle Management

• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of server hardware: purchase planning deployment maintenance refresh decommission
• Track end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-support (EOS) milestones and drive proactive refresh planning
• Maintain accurate server records in CMDB / asset management systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Coordinate deinstallation, data sanitization, and disposal in compliance with policies

Vendor Support Contract Oversight

• Manage OEM and third-party support contracts
• Track warranty status, SLAs, and maintenance coverage for all server assets
• Contract renewals, co-terming, and support strategy decisions (OEM vs. TPM)
• Identify cost optimization opportunities (e.g., right-sizing support tiers, eliminating overlapping coverage)
• Mitigate risks tied to unsupported or aging hardware

Risk Availability Management

• Ensure critical production servers have appropriate support coverage aligned to business SLAs
• Partner with operations teams to reduce incident impact via contract-aware escalation paths

Financial Planning Optimization

• Forecast server refresh cycles, maintenance renewals, and capital vs. operational spend
• Provide visibility into total cost of ownership (TCO) for server infrastructure
• Support budgeting and vendor negotiations with data-driven insights

Operational Integration

• Work with infrastructure, data center, engineering, and procurement teams to align asset strategy
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes
• Enable audits (financial, security, compliance) through accurate asset and contract data

Process Tooling

• Maintain and improve server asset management processes, standards, and governance
• Drive automation and reconciliation between discovery tools, CMDB, and contract systems
• Enforce asset tagging, inventory accuracy, and periodic reconciliation

Key Outcomes

• Accurate, audit-ready server inventory and lifecycle status
• Zero (or minimal) unsupported servers in production
• Optimized support contract spend and coverage alignment
• Reduced risk from aging infrastructure
• Predictable and well-managed server refresh cycles

Typical Skills / Experience:
