Job summary

Bengaluru Airport Services Limited (BASL) is seeking a Guest Service professional to serve food and beverages and manage table allocations in a fast-paced airport setting. You will handle buffet/ala carte setups, ensure high standards of service, and support lounge staff as needed.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in F&B operations, strong English communication, and a customer-focused, professional appearance to meet luxury hospitality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Food & Beverage operations, preferably in luxury hotels.
• Fluency in English and professional appearance as per company policy.
• Warm, welcoming personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced airport environment and long hours.
• Strong communication and service terminology knowledge, including mise en place.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and attend to tables, serving food and beverages.

JOB SCOPE SUMMARY:

Responsible for serving food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner. In absence of Hostess, to handle table allocations and effectively controlling the flow of guests. Actively executing buffet| ala carte setup, service and clearance. Back area upkeep, polishing crockery, cutlery and glassware; food pickup and refilling. Working inside the bar is an additional scope in case management decides to do so.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables.
• Serve food and beverages to guests and promptly clear tables.
• Share menu knowledge to assist guests with questions and special requests.
• Record transactions accurately and promptly in the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, wherever applicable.
• Check with guests regularly to ensure their satisfaction.
• Clean tables, complete closing duties, and restock tableware and other supplies.
• Provide courteous service to guests and respond promptly to their inquiries, complaints, and requests.
• Maintain positive guest and team relations.
• Be familiar with all airport services, facilities, and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to guest inquiries or seek assistance promptly when required.
• Accommodate guest requests courteously and efficiently.
• Assist lounge service staff in their job functions as specified in departmental standards.
• Ensure serving stations and back-of-house areas are clean, organized, and well maintained at all times.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of food and beverage ingredients and menu prices.
• Understand and adhere to all safety and security policies and procedures.
• Be familiar with and comply with company policies, including all applicable dos and donts.
• Understand and comply with Food & Beverage Operating Manual policies and standards.
• Adhere to applicable local laws, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company attendance policies.
• Follow the established line of reporting and carry out duties as directed by the reporting manager.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Food & Beverage operations, preferably in luxury hotels.

• Willingness and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced airport environment.
• Demonstrate the stamina and flexibility to work for extended hours and in a 24/7 operational environment.
• Possess fluency in English.
