Job summary

GMR Group in Visakhapatnam seeks an experienced civil infrastructure leader to drive planning, review designs, and deliver major projects on time and within cost, while upholding safety and quality. You will coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, IE and government bodies, guiding a 15-50 member team toward zero non-conformance.

You will manage budgets, procurement, contracts and schedule, ensuring compliance with statutory and safety policies across complex projects like hotels,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil or electrical engineering with relevant construction knowledge.
Experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects with EPC coordination.
PM method exposure and understanding of contract standards (PPP preferred).

Responsibilities

Lead and guide a team for delivery of civil and building works at large campuses.
Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, IE and government bodies.
Monitor design finalization, constructability reviews and timely handovers.
Oversee procurement, contract closure, change management and QA/HSE adherence.
Manage budgets, schedules and stakeholder expectations across multiple vendors.

Job Purpose

Lead the team to review designs, plan, execute and complete all Civil & Building works, in coordination with other stakeholders and ensure implementation of the same adhering to safety & quality standards within specified time & cost. Anticipate the risks and propose mitigation measures for project completion. Guide and motivate the team in delivery of the project.

Procurement Management: Ensure coordination and assistance to procurement team for Technical and Commercial inputs in tendering including finalizing the specifications in line with technical specs defined in EPC contract and all relevant codal provisions, vendor evaluation and finalization

Design deliverables Management: Ensure the designs are finalized from constructability perspective from conceptual stage to detailed designs by coordinating with EPC contractors’ team, consultants and other stakeholders of the Projects including IE and Govt.

Ensure zero non-compliance to Statutory requirements
Complying stakeholder requirements and project objectives
Value engineering for Cost & Time optimization at design & procurement stage
Handing over and Contract Closure: Ensure in handover completed project to user departments with required documentation. Ensure and support Procurement and Contracts team to close all project-related contracts.
Acceptance by client/operation team. Closure of all contracts without nonconformance in specified time limits

Compliance: Quality, Health Safety Environment and regulatory compliances- Ensure effective deployment of the safety policy, environment management policy, quality assurance policy and achievement of objectives and targets /goals.

Managing Multiple Vendors and Stakeholders
Must have experience in leading team for implementation of complex projects viz, Hotels, Hospitals, Commercial complex, large size malls including structures & finishes
Must have exposure to Infrastructure works of large land parcels (20-100 Acres)

Education Qualifications

BachelorÃ¢ÂÂs Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering discipline
Construction Management qualification will be an advantage

Relevant Experience

25+Years experience in implementation of large projects e.g. 5 star hotels, Malls, IT parks and Commercial Buildings; should have executed projects with modern architectural finishes, for end to end project life cycle implementation.
Must have excellent understanding about the designs of buildings works. Must be able to review designs and construction methodology for all projectsMust have exposure to large infrastructure projects e.g. large townships, etc
Must have Degree in Civil Engineering from reputed Institute/ University.
Masters in Civil engineering from a reputed Institute/ University is preferable.
Diploma in construction management or PMP certification will be an added advantage.
Well versed with relevant Contract specifications and standards.
Well versed with executing PPP projects.
Well versed in digital monitoring methods required in modern construction management
