Job Summary
The Associate General Manager - Civil (Projects) will be responsible for end-to-end management of premium civil construction projects, overseeing the full project lifecycle from design review through execution and final handover. The role demands strong leadership, multi-disciplinary coordination, and rigorous control over cost, quality, safety, and timelines while ensuring full statutory and regulatory compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Review concept and detailed designs, providing construction-driven technical inputs.
- Coordinate and integrate architectural, interior, structural, and MEP deliverables.
- Lead weekly cross-functional coordination meetings involving architecture, MEP, planning, and estimation teams.
- Act as the key interface between site teams and Head Office (HO), managing all technical and operational correspondence.
Execution & Monitoring
- Oversee on-site project execution, including regular site visits and progress reviews.
- Monitor construction progress against approved schedules and milestones.
- Prepare and review MIS reports, billing certifications, and periodic progress updates for HO and senior management.
- Ensure adherence to approved budgets, timelines, quality benchmarks, and safety norms.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Implement and enforce quality control SOPs across all project sites.
- Ensure robust safety systems, including regular safety training and audits.
- Oversee statutory approvals and compliance with all local regulations.
- Escalate critical construction and compliance issues to the Project Director when required.
Value Engineering & Cost Control
- Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize cost without compromising quality or functionality.
- Collaborate with site and HO teams to improve construction efficiency and cost control.
- Review BOQs, variations, and change orders to ensure commercial prudence.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Lead, coach, and mentor project managers, engineers, and site teams.
- Build high-performing teams through skill development and performance guidance.
- Ensure smooth project close-out and structured handover to facility management or clients.
