Job summary

Flipspaces in India is seeking a General Manager – Procurement to lead and transform the national procurement function. As we continue to scale our Enterprise and Design & Build businesses across India and international markets, we are looking for an accomplished General Manager – Procurement to lead and transform our Pan-India procurement function.

About the Role

This is not a conventional purchasing role.

The GM – Procurement will be the national leader responsible for building a strategic, scalable and margin-focused procurement function across Flipspaces.

You will own the complete procurement lifecycle—from strategic sourcing, vendor development and category management to rate contracts, cost optimisation, process standardisation and procurement technology.

The mandate is simple: better sourcing, better commercials, stronger vendors and predictable procurement at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the Pan-India procurement strategy across all cities and project verticals.
• Lead procurement teams across geographies and establish clear KPIs, governance and performance standards.
• Build and strengthen the national vendor ecosystem across Civil, MEP, Furniture, Flooring, Ceiling, Joinery, Glazing, Finishes and specialised subcontracting categories.
• Drive strategic sourcing, vendor empanelment and vendor rationalisation across categories.
• Lead annual rate contract negotiations with key vendors and move procurement from project-based buying towards category-led strategic sourcing.
• Build city- and category-wise cost benchmarks and drive measurable procurement savings.
• Negotiate commercials including pricing, payment terms, advances, retention, penalties and escalation mechanisms.
• Develop category strategies, preferred vendor lists and alternate sourcing options.
• Partner with Design and Projects teams on value engineering and cost optimisation without compromising quality or design intent.
• Standardise the complete procurement process—from PR and vendor selection to PO, GRN, invoice reconciliation and payment.
• Drive adoption of digital procurement systems, automated workflows, dashboards and analytics.
• Establish procurement MIS covering spend, savings, vendor performance, PO cycles and key commercial metrics.
• Ensure materials comply with approved BOQs, specifications, samples and project quality requirements.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks including supply disruption, single-source dependency, price volatility and vendor capacity constraints.
• Act as the senior escalation point for critical vendor, supply-chain and commercial issues.

What We're Looking For

• 14–20 years of Procurement/Supply Chain experience, including 4–5+ years in a national, regional or multi-city leadership role.
• Strong preference for experience in Commercial Interiors, Design & Build, Construction, Real Estate, EPC or other project-led businesses.
• Deep expertise in Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Development, Rate Contracts and Category Management.
• Strong understanding of procurement across Civil, MEP, Furniture, Fixtures, Flooring, Ceiling, Joinery and Finishing categories.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable cost savings and margin improvement.
• Strong commercial negotiation and vendor relationship management capabilities.
• Experience building and leading distributed procurement teams across multiple geographies.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, governance and compliance.
• Comfortable working with ERP/procurement platforms, digital PO workflows, MIS and data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to work effectively with Projects, Design, Estimation, Finance and senior business leadership.

Education

Engineering / Supply Chain Management / Business Administration or related discipline

MBA, CIPS / CPSM or equivalent professional certification would be an advantage.
