Finefair India in Tiruppur invites an experienced Pattern Making & Development specialist to design accurate patterns for children’s knitted and woven garments, ensuring fit, balance, and construction align with designs, sizes, and technical specs.

You will oversee pattern development, grading, fittings, and collaboration with design, sampling, production, and quality teams to meet sample comments and production needs.

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of garment pattern making.
• Excellent knowledge of children's garment fitting and measurements.
• Strong understanding of knitted and woven garment construction.
• Good knowledge of pattern drafting, alteration, grading, and correction.
• Ability to independently identify and correct fitting problems.
• Knowledge of fabrics, shrinkage, stretch, trims, seams, stitches, and finishing.
• Understanding of garment measurement/specification sheets and tech packs.
• Knowledge of CAD pattern-making software such as Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, Tukatech, or similar will be an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Develop accurate patterns for children’s knitted and woven garments.
• Prepare patterns for different age groups and size ranges.
• Carry out pattern modifications and corrections based on fitting and sample comments.
• Perform accurate pattern grading for different sizes.
• Check pattern measurements, balance, shape, seam allowances, and construction details.
• Coordinate with pattern masters and sampling teams for pattern development and corrections.
• Conduct garment fitting sessions and identify fit-related issues.
• Analyze garment measurements and provide technical corrections.
• Ensure proper fit, comfort, proportion, and appearance of children's garments.
• Review samples against approved measurements, specifications, sketches, and reference samples.
• Provide detailed technical comments for sample corrections.
• Follow up on sample alterations and ensure corrections are properly implemented.
• Ensure the final approved pattern reflects all fitting and technical corrections.
• Work closely with Merchandising, Design, Sampling, Production, Quality, and Pattern teams.
• Provide technical support during pre-production and bulk production.
• Identify and resolve pattern, measurement, fitting, construction, and workmanship issues.
• Ensure bulk production follows the approved sample, pattern, measurement chart, and technical specifications.
• Support the quality team in resolving technical quality issues.
• Conduct pre-production checks and provide technical guidance to production teams.
• Maintain records of patterns, sample comments, revisions, measurements, and approvals.

Role & responsibilities

Pattern Making & Development

• Develop accurate patterns for children's knitted and woven garments based on designs, sketches, measurements, and technical specifications.
• Prepare patterns for different age groups and size ranges.

• Coordinate with pattern masters and sampling teams for pattern development and corrections.

Garment Fitting & Technical Development

• Conduct garment fitting sessions and identify fit-related issues.
• Analyze garment measurements and provide technical corrections.
• Ensure proper fit, comfort, proportion, and appearance of children's garments.
• Review samples against approved measurements, specifications, sketches, and reference samples.
• Provide detailed technical comments for sample corrections.

Knitted Garment Technical Knowledge

• Good understanding of knitted fabrics such as single jersey, rib, interlock, pique, fleece, French terry, and other knit constructions.
• Understand fabric stretch, recovery, shrinkage, GSM, and relaxation.
• Knowledge of knit garment construction, seams, stitches, necklines, cuffs, rib applications, and finishing.

Woven Garment Technical Knowledge

• Good understanding of woven fabrics and their construction.
• Knowledge of woven garment construction including shirts, dresses, shorts, trousers, skirts, jackets, and other children's styles.
• Understanding of collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets, waistbands, pleats, gathers, linings, and other construction details.
• Ensure appropriate pattern construction based on fabric characteristics and garment design.

Production & Quality Support

• Work closely with Merchandising, Design, Sampling, Production, Quality, and Pattern teams.
• Provide technical support during pre-production and bulk production.
• Identify and resolve pattern, measurement, fitting, construction, and workmanship issues.
• Ensure bulk production follows the approved sample, pattern, measurement chart, and technical specifications.
