About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Furniture Designer & CAD Draftsman with a strong background in carpentry, cabinetry, and woodwork to join a specialized technical drafting team.
The company specializes in Shop Drawings, translating architectural plans and designs into detailed, practical technical drawings that can be used by carpenters and manufacturers for production.
The ideal candidate should understand how furniture and cabinetry are actually built, not just how to create drawings. Strong practical carpentry/woodwork knowledge is therefore a key requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate architectural plans and design concepts into detailed technical/shop drawings for carpentry and furniture production.
- Create accurate 3D models and technical drawings for custom furniture, cabinetry, kitchens, closets, office furniture, and built-in solutions.
- Develop detailed drawings showing dimensions, materials, construction methods, joinery, sections, elevations, and production details.
- Work with architectural plans and convert them into clear, production-ready drawings for carpenters.
- Create and modify furniture/cabinet designs based on project requirements.
- Prepare cutting lists, BOMs, hardware details, and other production documentation where required.
- Ensure drawings are technically accurate and practical from a manufacturing/carpentry perspective.
- Coordinate with the design/project team to clarify technical requirements and resolve drawing issues.
- Make revisions based on client/project feedback.
- Maintain well-organized CAD files and drawing documentation.
- Where required, support drawings related to metalwork, including pergolas and other metal structures.
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong practical experience in carpentry, woodwork, cabinetry, or furniture manufacturing.
- 5+ years of experience preferred, whether gained through professional field experience, furniture manufacturing, technical education, or a combination of both.
- Strong understanding of how wooden furniture, cabinets, kitchens, and office joinery are constructed.
- Experience creating technical/shop drawings for furniture or carpentry projects.
- Ability to understand architectural drawings and convert them into practical manufacturing drawings.
- Rhino 3D experience is strongly preferred.
- Candidates with strong experience in SolidWorks or similar 3D/CAD software may also be considered, as Rhino training can be provided.
- Good understanding of dimensions, materials, joinery, hardware, and construction details.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good English communication skills and ability to understand technical instructions.
- Comfortable working with an international team and adapting to different project requirements.
Rhino Requirement
Rhino experience is highly preferred but does not necessarily need to be a deal-breaker.
Candidates with strong carpentry/furniture knowledge and experience using SolidWorks or another comparable CAD/3D software may also be considered, as training in Rhino can be provided.
Priority should be:

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is not simply a CAD operator. They should be someone who understands furniture and carpentry from a practical perspective and can look at an architectural design and determine how it needs to be drawn so a carpenter can actually build it.
A candidate with 5+ years of carpentry/furniture experience, good technical drawing skills, and Rhino/SolidWorks experience would be an excellent fit.
