Job description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsperson with 2–3 years of experience in the furniture industry to join our team in Jaipur. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed technical drawings for furniture and interior projects, ensuring design intent, functionality, material specifications, and manufacturing requirements are translated into production-ready drawings.

The candidate should have strong proficiency in AutoCAD, a sound understanding of furniture construction and manufacturing processes, and the ability to coordinate effectively with design, production, and execution teams to ensure smooth project progress and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Drawings & Documentation

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and sectional details for furniture and interior elements.
• Develop furniture drawings with accurate dimensions, tolerances, joinery details, hardware specifications, and material callouts.
• Translate design concepts, sketches, 3D models, and design briefs into precise, practical, and production-ready drawings.
• Prepare detailed drawings for custom furniture, modular furniture, cabinetry, wardrobes, storage units, tables, seating, and other furniture elements as required.
• Ensure all drawings are clear, technically accurate, and aligned with design intent and manufacturing feasibility.

2. Furniture Design & Manufacturing Coordination

• Work closely with the design and production teams to understand project requirements, design specifications, and manufacturing constraints.
• Ensure drawings consider material properties, fabrication methods, assembly requirements, hardware integration, and installation conditions.
• Coordinate with production teams to resolve technical queries and address design or manufacturing challenges.
• Revise drawings based on design changes, site conditions, production feedback, and client requirements.

3. Material Knowledge & Technical Accuracy

• Demonstrate a sound understanding of furniture materials, including plywood, MDF, solid wood, veneers, laminates, metals, glass, and other relevant finishes.
• Understand furniture construction techniques, joinery systems, edge banding, hardware, fittings, and assembly methods.
• Ensure appropriate material specifications, dimensions, finishes, and construction details are incorporated into drawings.
• Identify potential technical issues before production and recommend practical solutions to improve functionality and manufacturability.

4. Project Coordination & Tracking

• Coordinate with design, production, procurement, and execution teams to maintain smooth workflow and project continuity.
• Track drawing submissions, revisions, approvals, and production deadlines.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, material specifications, and project documentation.
• Prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting agreed timelines.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in furniture drafting, furniture design documentation, or a similar role within the furniture manufacturing industry.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to prepare detailed 2D technical and production drawings.
• Good understanding of furniture design principles, construction methods, materials, finishes, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to interpret design concepts, sketches, and layouts and convert them into accurate technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, joinery details, and fabrication requirements.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on custom furniture, modular furniture, bespoke joinery, or interior fit-out projects.
• Familiarity with CNC-ready drawings and furniture production workflows.
• A diploma or degree in Drafting, Interior Design, Furniture Design, Mechanical Drafting, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimal drafting errors, revisions due to avoidable inaccuracies, and production discrepancies.

Experience: 2–3 years in furniture drafting and AutoCAD production drawings.
