Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
• Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing.
• Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, and API testing.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Test Engineer to join our Engineering and Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the quality, reliability, performance, and security of our software applications and platforms.

You will work closely with developers, product managers, business teams, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, hands‑on experience with automation frameworks, API and database testing, and a strong understanding of quality engineering practices.

What You’ll Do

Test Planning & Execution

• Analyze business and technical requirements to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end test scenarios.
• Identify test conditions, edge cases, and potential failure scenarios.
• Validate application functionality across different environments and platforms.
• Document test results, defects, and quality metrics.

Test Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Automate repetitive functional, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios.
• Identify opportunities to improve test automation coverage and efficiency.
• Maintain reusable automation components and testing utilities.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar frameworks.
• Validate API responses, status codes, authentication, data integrity, and error handling.
• Perform database testing using SQL.
• Validate backend processes, business logic, and data flows.
• Test integrations between internal and external systems.

Performance & Reliability Testing

• Support performance, load, stress, and scalability testing.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and system reliability issues.
• Analyze test results and collaborate with engineering teams on resolution.
• Validate application behavior under expected and high-volume workloads.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects.
• Perform root-cause analysis in collaboration with developers.
• Validate bug fixes and conduct regression testing.
• Ensure critical issues are appropriately communicated and resolved before production releases.
• Maintain defect and quality metrics.

Quality Engineering & Process Improvement

• Contribute to quality standards, testing methodologies, and QA best practices.
• Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and release planning.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and recommend improvements.
• Promote shift-left testing and quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and frameworks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
• Understand business requirements and translate them into effective testing scenarios.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Communicate quality risks, testing progress, and release readiness to stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
• Hands‑on experience with manual and automated testing.
• Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, and API testing.

Professional Experience

• 2+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or a related role.
• Experience testing web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
• Hands‑on experience developing and maintaining automated test suites.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong analytical, debugging, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

Advanced Testing

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Experience with mobile application testing.
• Familiarity with security testing concepts.
• Experience with contract testing, service virtualization, or test data management.
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems testing.

Automation & DevOps

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Experience with Docker and cloud-based testing environments.
• Familiarity with test reporting and quality monitoring frameworks.

Domain Knowledge

• Experience in fintech, lending, banking, payments, financial services, or high-volume digital platforms.
• Understanding of transaction workflows, customer journeys, financial systems, or regulatory-sensitive applications.
