Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-orientedFunctional & Database Test Engineerwith 5–8 years of experience to join our QA team in themortgage technologydomain. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise inmanual testing, database and XML validation, and experience withautomation frameworksusingJava, Selenium,andPython. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, stability, and compliance of our mission-critical mortgage systems—ranging from loan origination to servicing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute test cases for key mortgage workflows (e.g., loan origination, underwriting, document validation, compliance checks)
• Validate backend mortgage data throughSQL queries and XML structuresacross various systems (e.g., LOS, CRM, underwriting engines)
• AnalyzeAPI responsesand errors related to mortgage data and services (e.g., credit pulls, income verification, disclosures)
• Performpatch testing and production release testingin high-availability environments
• Develop and maintain automated tests usingJava/Seleniumfor UI, andPythonfor backend/API scripting
• Customize and enhance test automation frameworks to align with mortgage business needs
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, work closely with developers, product managers, and business teams to understand functional requirements
• UseAzure DevOps (ADO)for managing test plans, test execution, and tracking defects
• Integrate test suites intoCI/CD pipelines via Jenkinsand support continuous testing
• Provide demos/presentations on test deliverables and ensure stakeholder visibility
• Maintain high test coverage and documentation to support mortgage compliance and audit needs

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in QA, with solid background inSTLC, manual testing, and automation
• Strong understanding ofmortgage domain workflowsand terminology (LOS, AUS, disclosures, compliance, etc.)
• Proficient inSQLfor database testing andXMLvalidation
• Solid understanding ofAPI testing, including error handling and request/response verification
• Hands‑on experience withUI automation using Java Selenium and Python scripting
• Familiar withAzure DevOps (ADO)for test management and issue tracking
• Knowledge ofdefect lifecycle, test case preparation, regression, and smoke testing
• Experience withCI/CD tools like Jenkinsfor test integration
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of testing responsibilities

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with mortgage LOS platforms (e.g., Encompass, ICE Mortgage Tech, Calyx)
• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., CFPB, FHA, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac)
• Exposure to performance testing and test data management tools
