Job summary

Kumaran Systems is seeking a detail-oriented Functional QA Engineer to ensure the quality of our web applications through manual and automated testing. The role is full-time and hybrid, with office locations in Canada/USA/India and India-based team collaboration.

You will design test plans, automate using Playwright and Python, and perform API, UI, and database validation across Angular SPAs. Join a collaborative Agile environment and help deliver reliable software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Manual Testing.
• Hands-on experience automating tests using Playwright + Python (Mandatory).
• Solid understanding of API Testing (Postman / REST Assured / similar tools).
• Working knowledge of SQL for database validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans, test cases, and checklists covering functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright + Python following the Page Object Model (POM).
• Perform end-to-end testing of Angular-based Single Page Applications (SPAs).
• Validate REST APIs using Playwright API testing, Postman, or similar tools.
• Perform database validation using SQL queries to verify backend data integrity.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps / Jenkins).
• Log clear, reproducible bug reports with steps, screenshots, and logs; track through resolution via Jira / Azure DevOps.
• Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure consistent UI behavior.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our web applications through both manual and automated testing. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality software that meets functional and business requirements.

This is a full-time, Hybrid role with office base locations in Canada / USA / India (Bangalore / Chennai).

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience testing across UI, Microservices, and Backend/DB layers
• Good understanding of STLC, Defect Lifecycle, and Agile Methodology
• Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS to understand front-end behavior and write precise test selectors
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution
