Overview To lead and expand Metalman presence in Europe and North America. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in export sales and business development, specifically in the auto-components and industrial fabrication segments. This role will focus on new customer acquisition, product application diversification, and margin-focused business growth for Metalman’s product portfolio in global markets.
Drive strategic business growth in North American and European markets by acquiring new OEM/industrial clients and expanding into newer product/application segments.
- Build and execute a global sales strategy with a strong focus on competitive positioning and value-based selling.
- Lead end-to-end export business development lifecycle: Market research, lead generation, customer interaction, RFQ management, techno-commercial proposal, negotiations, and conversion to long-term contracts.
- Directly manage and participate in customer visits, technical discussions, project execution reviews, and commercial settlements with global clients.
- Explore and introduce new product lines and applications in the metal fabrication, sheet metal, casting, forging, and tubular assemblies domain.
- Ensure high EBITDA margin growth through proactive costing, pricing strategies, and commercial impact analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, costing, quality, operations, and finance teams to deliver on project commitments.
- Monitor and drive project profit tracking, price adjustments (commodity-linked), and risk mitigation plans.
- Manage and coach a team of export managers/account handlers and ensure CRM, forecasting, and sales reporting is aligned to business targets.
- Represent the organization in international expos, business forums, and OEM sourcing events to develop visibility and strategic partnerships.
Responsibilities
Proven success in Europe and North America business development and export sales, with demonstrated relationships with Tier-1/Tier-2 OEMs (e.g., BMW, Faurecia, Harley-Davidson, Linamar, Tenneco, Caterpillar).
- Strong techno-commercial background – hands-on experience in RFQs, product costing, price negotiations, and commercial settlements.
- Exceptional understanding of sheet metal, tubular fabrication, castings, forgings, machining, and welding assembly processes.
- Highly analytical, data-driven, and strategic in business decision-making.
- Effective leadership skills – can lead from the front and work with cross-cultural/global teams.
- Proficient in project management, cost tracking, and customer contribution analysis.
- Energetic, aggressive, and results-oriented; a true business hunter with strong customer orientation.
Skills Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- MBA/PGDM in International Business or Marketing (Preferred)
- 12–16 years of experience in international business development, preferably in the auto-components and heavy industrial fabrication sector.
