Job summary

JSW Steel is seeking a procurement professional to manage vendor relationships, strategic sourcing, and supply chain activities for power plant equipment. You will leverage SAP ERP, read engineering drawings, negotiate contracts, and drive cost optimization.

Extensive coordination with internal teams and external vendors will ensure timely procurement, budget adherence, and compliance with statutory requirements. 2–7 years of relevant experience preferred in thermal power or large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Electrical/Mechanical engineering along with procurement exposure.
• Experience in thermal power/O&M or large-scale projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SAP/ERP systems and contract management practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement, vendor relationships and supply chain activities.
• Coordinate with external agencies and internal departments for inspection and quality checks at procurement.
• Prepare purchasing budgets and review expenditures with department head.
• Develop supplier portfolio strategy and negotiate capital equipment purchases.
• Ensure compliance with statutory/ tax aspects (ED/CD/CVD/VAT/ST) and cost control measures.

This role exists to manage procurement, vendor relationships, and supply chain activities, ensuring

efficient purchasing, contract management, and cost optimization. It requires expertise in SAP ERP,

engineering specifications, negotiation, and problem-solving to support operational success.

• Administer, control and coordinate budget and expenditures. Approve requisitions,
• Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
• Exposure to all Commercial aspects of high value Purchases including dealing with Statutory bodies.
• Aware of commercials of both Domestic Purchases & Imports /Exports.
• Should have sound knowledge of different taxes such as ED/CD/CVD/VAT/ST etc
• Ability to coordinate with Vendors / Suppliers towards timely procurement of Items even at short
• notices required.
• To coordinate with external agencies / other departments towards Inspection / Quality Checks at the
• time of Procurement.
• Exposure to Cost Control / Quality Assurance.
• Exposure to modern techniques viz JIT , Kanban , FIFO etc sought.

Educational Background and Work Experience

B.E/B.Tech(Electrical / Mechanical)

Diploma (Electrical / Mechanical)

Work Experience:

B.E/B.Tech(Electrical / Mechanical) : 2 to 7 years in Therma Power-O&M or large scale project

Diploma (Electrical / Mechanical) : 06 to 12 year experience in Thermal Power or large scale

project
