Apple Edibles and Logistics Pvt Ltd, based in Mumbai, is seeking a Food Technologist - New Product Development (NPD) Assistant Manager in the FMCG sector to lead innovative snacks for kids.

You will oversee formulation, trials, and commercialization, coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and ensure timely launches with quality and cost targets.

Apple Edibles and Logistics Pvt Ltd. has setup a new food processing & manufacturing facility. It has commissioned its new manufacturing plant at Khopoli, Maharashtra. The company owns and operates consumer food brands including Euforia (www.euforiapasta.com) and Firo (www.firofoods.com) .

Overview

We are currently looking for a Food Technologist - New Product Development (FMCG) Assistant Manager in Mumbai, to help us innovate new products for tiffin snacks & meals for children aged 3 - 12 years old. If you are an experienced skilled professional with a passion for thinking & developing new food products for kids and a commitment to delivering fun for kids, then we want to definitely hear from you!!

This role involves working at our in-house kitchen or leading R&D events, along side food technicians and process technologists to design new dishes and food products that meet consumer trends and market demands. The role requires strong management, coordination, and execution skills to ensure

timely product launches, consistent quality, efficient production, supplier coordination, and

effective team management.

Key Responsibilities

Manage product development from formulation and trials to commercialization and

• Coordinate product trials, sampling, packaging, shelf-life testing, and approvals.
• Ensure products meet quality, cost, and launch timelines.
• Manufacturing Feasibility: Ensure that developed recipes can be efficiently produced from kitchen to the shelf using factory processes while maintaining cost-effectiveness and product quality.
• Identify and coordinate with suppliers for ingredients, seasonings, premixes, and packaging materials.
• Manage sampling, trials, quotations, follow-ups, and supplier quality issues.
• Ensure timely availability of approved materials in coordination with procurement.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all new products comply with local and international food safety regulations.
• Market Awareness: Stay updated on consumer trends, such as the growing demands for snacks from parents & kids, to inform product development decisions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with food technologists to ensure that recipes are compatible with factory processes and meet quality standards.
• Ensure products meet approved quality standards.
• Coordinate with QC/QA teams for testing, product approvals, shelf-life studies, and corrective actions.
• Maintain product specifications, SOPs, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with procurement, QC, production, packaging, warehouse, and marketing teams.
• Track project timelines, resolve operational bottlenecks, and provide regular updates to management.
• Sensory and Taste Panels: Respond to feedback from sensory and taste panels to refine product recipes and ensure they meet consumer preferences.
• Innovation: Integrate innovative ingredients and packaging solutions to enhance product appeal and sustainability.
• Quality Assurances: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards throughout the factory development process.
• Monitor product costing, raw material consumption, production losses, and wastage.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and standardize processes.
• Maintain formulations, BOMs, production records, and NPD documentation.
