Job summary

The Whole Truth is seeking an NPD Executive (Techno-Commercial) to drive end-to-end product development from lab to commercial production in Mumbai. You will lead scale-up, select lines and equipment, and coordinate trials across manufacturing sites while ensuring QA/QC standards and regulatory compliance.

Role requires 3–4 years in NPD/manufacturing in the food sector, strong communication and documentation skills, and willingness to travel to plants and co-manufacturers.

Qualifications

• MSc/MTech in Food Technology or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of experience in NPD/Manufacturing in the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC standards and testing methods.
• FSSAI, GMP, HACCP regulatory guidelines awareness.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead scale-up of finalized formulations from lab to commercial production.
• Identify suitable manufacturing lines, machinery, and process flow for new products.
• Coordinate equipment validation and production trials at sites.
• Define and implement QA/QC standards for materials and processes.
• Validate packaging formats and conduct shelf-life trials.
• Provide on-site support during trials and production runs.
• Ensure process validation and documentation per quality requirements.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is not a desk role. You will work across new product launches and special projects, including optimizing cost, process, and machine improvement—end to end, from recipe finalisation to commercial production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead scale‑up of finalized formulations from lab to commercial production.
• Identify suitable manufacturing lines, machinery, and process flow for new products.
• Assess machinery requirements and coordinate equipment validation and production trials at manufacturing/co‑manufacturer sites.
• Define and implement QA/QC standards for raw materials, in‑process controls, and finished products.
• Validate packaging formats and conduct transit, handling, and shelf‑life trials.
• Provide on‑site support during trial and commercial production runs.
• Ensure process validation and documentation are completed as per quality requirements.
• Drive cost optimisation initiatives across raw materials, processing, and packaging.
• Identify manufacturing efficiency gaps and implement improvements through process, mechanical, or SOP modifications.
• Track commercialisation progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

EDUCATION

M.Sc/M.Tech in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology.

EXPERIENCE

3–4 years of experience in NPD/Manufacturing in the food industry.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Strong knowledge of quality testing methods and equipment.
• Understanding of regulatory guidelines (FSSAI, GMP, HACCP, etc.).
• Good documentation and reporting skills.

• Knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation.

Willingness to travel extensively to manufacturing plants and co‑manufacturer locations, both inter‑ and intra‑city, to support trials and production activities.
