Job summary

Basilllia Organics is seeking an Executive / Sr Executive - Quality Control in Pune to lead in-process QC, organic compliance, and supplier audits. The role requires knowledge of GMP/GHP, HACCP, and batch traceability, with 1–3 years in food/FMCG settings.

You will coordinate lab testing, ensure TC/COA records, and uphold FSSAI/Jaivik Bharat packaging standards, reporting to the QA lead in a floor-based production unit.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Food Technology/Science.
• 1–3 years in food/FMCG/agri/organic processing units.
• Proven expertise in HACCP, ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000, and BRCGS standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift QC across grain cleaning, sorting, grading and packaging.
• Monitor moisture, defects, impurities and other quality parameters.
• Enforce GMP and GHP on the floor and prevent cross-contamination.

Job description

Executive / Sr Executive - Quality Control

Role & responsibilities

1. In-Process & Line Quality Control

• Oversee daily shift quality operations across grain cleaning, sorting, grading, packaging units.
• Monitor physical parameters of products (moisture levels, broken percentages, impurities and other).
• Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) on the factory floor.
• Define and strictly implement clean-out protocols between production batches to completely avoid batch cross-contamination.

2. Organic Compliance & Certifications

• Maintain meticulous documentation required for NPOP (India), USDA Organic, and EU Organic regulations.
• Manage end-to-end batch traceability records.
• Coordinate the verification, storage, and issuance of Transaction Certificates (TCs) for both domestic movements and global exports.
• Ensure full compliance with FSSAI and Jaivik Bharat packaging and labeling regulations.

3. Auditing & Vendor Compliance

• Act as the primary point of contact for external validation audits by third-party certification bodies.
• Lead routine internal audits of the processing plant using Internal Control System (ICS) guidelines.
• Track quality deviations; formulate robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports and drive the implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

4. Lab Testing & Batch Clearance

• Supervise basic physical, chemical, and microbiological sampling of raw procurement and finished goods.
• Coordinate external lab testing schedules for mandatory pesticide residue screening, heavy metals testing, and shelf-life verification.
• Verify and sign off on Certificate of Analysis (COA) logs prior to container loading for export shipments.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelor's or masters degree in food technology, Food Science, Food Microbiology, or Agricultural Sciences.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in managing food/FMCG/agri/organic processing units
• Standards Expertise: Proven execution experience with HACCP, ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000, and BRCGS standards.
• Software Skills: Familiarity with managing inventory quality codes or batch traceability through an ERP or specialized food supply chain software.
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical mindset, audit documentation rigor, capability to resolve plant-floor quality non-conformities swiftly, and comfortable working in a manufacturing unit setup.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Pune (Factory location: Khed Shivapur, Pune)
