Job summary

Bharuwa Solutions is seeking a seasoned Fleet Management SME to drive design, implementation, and optimization of fleet management solutions. You will bridge business users, customers, product, and tech teams to digitize and optimize fleet operations while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes requirement gathering, FRD/BRD creation, and hands-on process improvement across vehicle lifecycle, routing, GPS tracking, and maintenance. Strong stakeholder engagement is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation Management, IT or related field.
• 9+ years of experience in Fleet Management, Transportation Management, Logistics Operations, or Fleet Management Software Solutions.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end fleet operations and transportation workflows.
• Experience with enterprise software products, SaaS platforms, ERP, TMS, or Fleet Management Systems.
• Proven experience in requirement gathering, business analysis, process mapping, and solution design.
• Hands-on experience preparing FRDs, BRDs, user stories, use cases, and business process documentation.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements related to fleet and transportation operations.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for Fleet Management modules.
• Translate requirements into FRDs, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
• Work with customers, operations, product, and technical teams to define business solutions.
• Design, validate, and optimize fleet-related business processes (vehicle lifecycle, compliance, Driver onboarding, routing, GPS tracking).
• Collaborate with Product Management, Development, QA, and Support through the product lifecycle.
• Provide functional guidance during solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Assist QA in creating test scenarios and validating workflows, and conduct UAT for production readiness.
• Conduct product demonstrations, client workshops, training, and knowledge transfer.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Fleet Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive the functional design, implementation, and optimization of fleet management solutions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive domain expertise in fleet operations and transportation management, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable and efficient software solutions.

As a key stakeholder between business users, customers, product teams, and technology teams, you will ensure that fleet management processes are effectively digitized, optimized, and compliant with regulatory requirements while delivering exceptional customer value.

Business Analysis & Requirement Gathering

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for Fleet Management modules.
• Translate operational fleet management requirements into detailed Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with customers, operations teams, product managers, and technical teams to define business solutions.

Fleet Management Domain Expertise

• Design, validate, and optimize business processes related to:
• Vehicle lifecycle management
• Vehicle registration and compliance
• Driver onboarding and allocation
• Trip planning and execution
• GPS tracking and route optimization
• Fuel monitoring and consumption analysis
• Fleet utilization and performance monitoring
• Maintenance and preventive servicing schedules
• Insurance, permits, pollution certificates, and regulatory compliance

Product Development & Delivery Support

• Collaborate with Product Management, Development, QA, and Support teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Provide functional guidance during solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Support QA teams in creating test scenarios and validating business workflows.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure business readiness before production releases.

Customer Engagement & Implementation

• Conduct product demonstrations, client workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer programs.
• Engage with customers to identify improvement opportunities and recommend product enhancements.
• Support implementation projects and ensure successful adoption of fleet management solutions.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and provide functional resolutions.
• Drive process optimization initiatives to improve operational efficiency and cost control.
• Recommend innovative solutions leveraging emerging technologies and best practices in fleet management.
• Stay updated on industry trends, transportation regulations, and fleet technology advancements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation Management, Information Technology, or related field.
• 9+ years of experience in Fleet Management, Transportation Management, Logistics Operations, or Fleet Management Software Solutions.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end fleet operations and transportation workflows.
• Experience working with enterprise software products, SaaS platforms, ERP, TMS, or Fleet Management Systems.
• Proven experience in requirement gathering, business analysis, process mapping, and solution design.
• Hands-on experience preparing FRDs, BRDs, user stories, use cases, and business process documentation.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements related to fleet and transportation operations.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of GPS tracking systems, telematics, IoT-enabled fleet monitoring, and route optimization solutions.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with SDLC processes and software implementation projects.
• Understanding of fleet cost management, fuel analytics, predictive maintenance, and utilization reporting.
• Experience working with logistics, transportation, manufacturing, FMCG, automotive, or fleet-intensive industries.
• Exposure to analytics and reporting tools is an added advantage.
