Job summary

Cooperwind India in Tamil Nadu invites an experienced Fixture Design Engineer to design robotic fixtures for welding, assembly, inspection, and testing. You will create 3D models, study drawings, and ensure manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Design of fixtures for robotic welding, assembly, inspection and testing.
• Understanding GD&T, tolerance stack-up and manufacturing processes.
• Sheet metal fabrication, welding and CNC machining knowledge.
• Pneumatic fixture design and robotic welding applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robotic fixtures for welding, assembly, inspection, and testing.
• Study drawings and process requirements.
• Develop fixture concepts for cycle time, ergonomics, repeatability.
• Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
• Perform tolerance stack‑up and GD&T analysis.
• Select cylinders, guides, clamps, sensors, locators and indexing mechanisms.
• Design Poka-Yoke mechanisms wherever applicable.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, machining, fabrication and assembly teams.
• Support fixture trials, debugging and customer approvals.
• Prepare BOMs, assembly drawings, exploded views and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with customer standards and internal engineering practices.
• Work closely with automation, robotics, controls and project teams.

• Study customer drawings and process requirements.
• Develop fixture concepts based on cycle time, ergonomics, repeatability and manufacturability.

• Ability to perform design calculations and select suitable materials.
