Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field service engineer to diagnose, retrofit and maintain Fire Detection and Alarm Systems on ships calling Indian ports. You will perform troubleshooting, commissioning and AMC for FDAS and fire extinguishing systems, with a focus on safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years hands-on experience in instrumentation/electronics, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and willingness to travel across India.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering.
• 2–4 years of hands-on service experience.
• Expertise in servicing addressable Fire Detection Systems and Fire Extinguishing systems (CO₂, FM200, Water Mist, Foam).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
• Willingness to travel across Indian ports.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and rectify defects in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) and control panels onboard ships.
• Execute retrofit and commissioning activities for AFDS and fire extinguishing systems.
• Perform annual maintenance contracts (AMC) for AFDS and fire extinguishing systems.
• Troubleshoot software issues within control panels, including program upload/download.
• Interpret manuals, P&ID diagrams, and electrical drawings for troubleshooting.
• Analyze onboard logbook data to identify and resolve system defects.
• Ensure compliance with marine safety standards and operational excellence.
