Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled field service engineer to diagnose and rectify defects in FDAS and control panels onboard ships, and to execute retrofit and commissioning for AFDS and fire extinguishing systems.

You will perform AMC contracts, troubleshoot software issues, interpret manuals and drawings, analyze logbook data, and ensure compliance with marine safety standards while traveling across Indian ports.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on service experience.
• Experience in servicing Addressable Fire Detection Systems and Fire Extinguishing Systems (CO₂, FM200, Water Mist, Foam).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

What you will do

• Apply control philosophy knowledge to implement retrofit solutions.
• Analyze onboard logbook data to identify and resolve system defects.
• Ensure compliance with marine safety standards and operational excellence.

What we look for

• Education: Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering
• Experience: 2–4 years of hands‑on service experience
• Required Expertise in servicing Addressable Fire Detection Systems and Fire Extinguishing Systems (CO₂, FM200, Water Mist, Foam).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Willingness to travel across Indian ports.
• Preferred Knowledge of conventional/addressable fire detection systems.
• Experience with naval and marine ship systems.
