Job summary

Manipal Hospitals is seeking a Fire Safety Officer to oversee fire and life safety for patients, staff, visitors, and hospital property. You will conduct regular fire safety inspections, risk assessments, and monitor alarm, hydrant, sprinkler, extinguisher, and emergency systems to ensure readiness.

You will also coordinate with hospital departments and external fire/emergency services, conduct drills, and promote a strong safety culture across the hospital.

Qualifications

  • Train staff on fire prevention, extinguisher use, and emergency response.
  • Ensure safe storage and handling of oxygen, medical gases, and flammable materials.
  • Prepare and maintain fire emergency and evacuation plans.
  • Coordinate with hospital departments and external fire/emergency services.
  • Investigate fire incidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain fire safety records, inspection reports, certificates, and drill records.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable fire safety standards and regulations.
  • Monitor contractor activities, hot work, and other fire-risk activities.
  • Promote fire safety awareness and a strong safety culture throughout the hospital.
