Job summary

Growth For Impact is seeking a skilled Fire Safety Officer to oversee site fire safety, set up equipment, and lead evacuation drills. The role involves conducting rescue operations and coordinating with government authorities for NOC renewals. Candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant experience and a Diploma/Degree in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety is required.
• 3-5 years of work experience in fire safety or related field.
• Knowledge of current fire suppression and firefighting techniques.
• Knowledge of emergency medical services principles and practices.
• Analytical and meticulous skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fire safety at the site and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Operate assigned apparatus and follow command structure for fire suppression or related emergencies.
• Set up equipment upon arrival at a fire scene and manage operations.
• Prepare and execute evacuation drills and related fire safety trainings.
• Conduct rescue, firefighting, and salvage operations as needed.
• Assess if individuals are trapped and secure their rescue.
• Maintain and report records of incidents and equipment post-suppression.
• Coordinate with authorities for periodic renewals of NOC’s.

Job description

ROLE

• Oversee and ensure fire safety at the site
• Use assigned apparatus and follow command structure instructions for fire suppression or related emergency services
• Perform equipment set-up upon arrival at a fire scene
• Prepare plans and execute evacuation drills and other fire safety related trainings
• Complete rescue, firefighting, and salvage operations at a fire scene
• Determine if individuals are trapped within a burning facility and take appropriate actions to secure their rescue
• Perform lift evacuation and rescue drills periodically
• Secure affected structure to prevent rekindling
• Take inventory of all equipment after suppression has been achieved and record all equipment
• Attend and provide information for pre-fire planning studies and maintain updated knowledge of pre-fire plans
• Liaise with Government authorities for periodic renewal of NOC’s
• Report and maintain records of all incidents on site
• Keep checklists and records updated related to fire equipment maintenance and training records

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma/Degree in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety
• 3-5 years of work experience
