Job summary

FinOps Weekly seeks a seasoned Cloud FinOps leader to manage cloud cost across AWS, Azure and GCP in a multi‑cloud setting. You will own governance, reporting, forecasting, and automation to drive measurable savings while maintaining performance and scalability.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Procurement and Leadership to translate cloud usage into actionable financial insight and to shape FinOps adoption across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years in Cloud Financial Management / FinOps.
• Hands-on cloud cost management across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Measurable cloud cost savings delivery experience.
• Strong understanding of cloud pricing & billing.
• Experience with top FinOps tools and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end cloud financial management across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Analyze cloud usage and spend trends to identify savings opportunities.
• Drive rightsizing, reserved instances, savings plans, and other discounts.
• Build chargeback/showback models for business units.
• Define FinOps policies, frameworks, and best practices.
• Set cost allocation standards including tagging and account structure.
• Implement budget controls, alerts, and forecasting mechanisms.
• Partner with Finance on planning cycles and budget alignment.
• Act as liaison between Engineering, Finance, and leadership.
• Influence engineering toward cost-efficient architecture decisions.
• Support leadership with cost transparency, KPIs, dashboards.
• Advise on cloud pricing models and vendor negotiations.
• Develop dashboards and reports for visibility and variance analysis.
• Track unit economics like cost per service/user/transaction.
• Support audits and compliance tied to cloud spend.
• Automate cost optimization and anomaly detection.

About the Role

This role leads cloud financial management across AWS, Azure, and GCP in a multi-cloud environment. It is focused on improving cost efficiency, accountability, transparency, and compliance while ensuring cloud spend supports business value. The position works closely with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Business teams, and leadership. It owns FinOps practices, reporting, and governance, and helps translate cloud usage into actionable financial insight. Success in the role includes reduced cloud spend without affecting performance or scalability, stronger cost visibility and accountability, more accurate forecasting, predictable cloud budgets, and broader FinOps adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills

• 6–8+ years in Cloud Financial Management / FinOps.
• Hands‑on cloud cost management experience across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Demonstrated delivery of measurable cloud cost savings.
• Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and billing constructs.
• Experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing, CloudHealth, Apptio, Cloudability, or similar FinOps tools.
• Understanding of cloud architecture, containers, and microservices.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Strong Excel, SQL, and BI dashboarding skills.
• Ability to translate technical usage into financial insight.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence without authority.
• Data‑driven approach with strong attention to detail.
• Leadership mindset with mentoring capability.
