Job summary

Tekion is hiring a Lead FinOps Analyst to lead cloud financial operations and cost optimization across the organization. This on-site role is based in Bangalore and partners with engineering, product, finance, DevOps, and procurement to improve cost transparency and financial accountability, guiding smarter cloud investments.

The role focuses on maturing FinOps practices, enhancing cloud spend visibility, and supporting planning, reporting, and optimization in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of FinOps or cloud financial operations experience.
  • Strong pricing, billing, and discounting knowledge across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Hands-on with cloud cost management platforms and automation.
  • Proficient in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead FinOps strategy and organizational adoption.
  • Build cost governance, budgeting, forecasting, and optimization frameworks.
  • Own cloud financial reporting and related processes.
  • Support chargeback/showback and cost allocation.
  • Analyze multi‑cloud billing data for anomalies and savings.
  • Manage RI/Savings Plans/Spot instances.
  • Improve tagging and cost categorization.
  • Build dashboards for cloud spend visibility.
  • Enable self-service cost insights for engineering teams.

About the Role

Tekion is hiring a Lead FinOps Analyst to lead cloud financial operations and cost optimization across the organization. This is a full‑time, work‑from‑office role based in Bangalore. The position partners closely with engineering, product, finance, DevOps, and procurement to improve cost transparency, strengthen financial accountability, and support smarter cloud investment decisions. It also serves as a key link between technical and finance teams. The role is responsible for building and maturing FinOps practices, improving cloud spend visibility, and supporting planning, reporting, and optimization efforts in a fast‑growing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the rollout and ongoing development of FinOps practices across the company.
  • Build frameworks for cloud cost governance, budgeting, forecasting, and usage optimization.
  • Own cloud financial reporting and act as a bridge between technical and finance stakeholders.
  • Work with engineering, DevOps, finance, and procurement teams to improve cloud cost accountability.
  • Align cloud spending with product priorities and support informed decision‑making.
  • Support chargeback and showback models for clearer cost allocation and ownership.
  • Analyze billing across AWS, Azure, and GCP to identify inefficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Manage pricing and commitment models, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Spot instances.
  • Improve cloud spend visibility through tagging and cost categorization.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports for executive and engineering audiences.
  • Enhance tooling such as CloudHealth, Cloudability, and AWS Cost Explorer.
  • Enable self‑service cost insights for engineering teams.
Required Skills
  • 6–10 years of experience in FinOps, cloud finance, infrastructure cost management, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP, including pricing, billing, and discounting models.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud cost management platforms, APIs, and automation.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
  • Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills in cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification.
  • Experience in high‑growth SaaS or platform‑based environments.
  • Background in Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD‑driven organizations.
  • Familiarity with automotive technology or automotive‑related industries.
  • Experience managing customer‑facing cloud and FinOps conversations.
  • Experience with cloud‑based environments and microservices architecture.
  • Strong ownership, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑influence skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced startup environment.
  • Passion for innovation and staying current with software development trends and technologies.
