Job summary

Rohan Group in Pune district, Maharashtra, seeks a finishing works supervisor to lead on-site finishing activities including plastering, flooring, painting, ceilings, waterproofing and façade finishing. Ensure work aligns with drawings, method statements and project specs while coordinating with MEP and other services.

You will plan, monitor progress, manage subcontractors, control materials, ensure safety, QA/QC and handover readiness to meet milestones.

Responsibilities

• Finishings supervision: plastering, flooring/tiling, painting/polishing, false ceiling, waterproofing, doors/windows/glazing, masonry, facade finishing, sanitary finishes, snag rectification.
• Ensure work follows approved drawings, method statements and project specs.
• Monitor productivity and ensure completion per project schedule.
• Coordinate finishing activities with MEP and other services.
• Prepare detailed finishing work plans and schedules.
• Monitor daily/weekly progress; identify delays and bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with Planning, Procurement, Design and Project teams.
• Ensure material, manpower, tools and equipment availability before starting.
• Support milestones and handover timelines.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and PPE usage.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and approvals.
• Attend project reviews and provide progress updates.
• Manage subcontractors and supervision teams; resolve issues.
• Coordinate with stores and procurement for materials.
• Plan for snagging and handover documentation.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

A. Finishing Works Execution

• Manage and supervise all finishing activities including:
• Internal and external plastering
• Flooring and tiling
• Painting and polishing
• False ceiling works
• Waterproofing and sealant works
• Doors, windows and glazing
• Masonry and blockwork
• Internal/external faade finishing
• Sanitary and allied finishing works
• Final touch-up and snag rectification
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, method statements and project specifications.
• Monitor productivity and ensure completion as per the project schedule.
• Ensure proper sequencing and coordination of finishing activities with MEP and other services.

B. Planning & Project Execution

• Prepare detailed finishing work plans and activity schedules.
• Monitor daily and weekly progress against planned targets.
• Identify delays, constraints and bottlenecks and take corrective action.
• Coordinate with the Planning, Procurement, Design and Project teams for timely execution.
• Ensure availability of materials, manpower, tools and equipment before commencement of activities.
• Support project management in achieving project milestones and handover timelines.

C. Quality Control

• Ensure finishing works comply with approved specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and approvals.
• Ensure mock-ups and sample approvals are completed before bulk execution.
• Monitor workmanship and identify quality issues at an early stage.
• Ensure proper rectification of defects and maintain finishing quality.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.

D. Subcontractor & Manpower Management

• Manage and coordinate finishing subcontractors and agencies.
• Plan manpower requirements based on project priorities.
• Monitor subcontractor productivity, quality and adherence to schedules.
• Allocate work fronts and ensure optimum utilization of manpower.
• Review subcontractor performance and resolve execution-related issues.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers and foremen for day-to-day execution.

E. Material Management

• Coordinate with stores and procurement teams for timely availability of finishing materials.
• Verify material requirements as per approved drawings and BOQ.
• Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
• Ensure materials are stored properly and protected from damage.
• Coordinate with vendors/subcontractors for material-related issues.

F. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all finishing activities are carried out in accordance with site safety procedures.
• Coordinate with the Safety team to identify and control site risks.
• Ensure workers use appropriate PPE and follow safe working practices.
• Ensure compliance with work-at-height, scaffolding, electrical and other applicable safety requirements.
• Immediately address unsafe practices and conditions.

G. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with Project Manager, Construction Manager, QA/QC, Planning, MEP, Safety, Procurement and Stores teams.
• Coordinate with consultants and client representatives for inspections and approvals.
• Attend project review meetings and provide progress updates.
• Resolve drawing, specification and execution-related issues in coordination with the concerned departments.
• Maintain effective communication with subcontractors and site teams.

H. Snagging & Project Handover

• Plan and manage snagging and de-snagging activities.
• Coordinate with various teams to close observations within agreed timelines.
• Ensure all finishing works are completed before handover.
• Coordinate preparation of areas for client/consultant inspection.
• Support preparation of handover documentation and completion records.
• Ensure project areas are handed over in acceptable quality and condition.
