Job summary

Zoomies Petcare is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager Accounts & MIS to own the finance and accounting function. You will work closely with the founders and leadership, managing end-to-end accounting, MIS, P&L and financial controls as we scale.

This is a high-ownership role requiring strong fundamentals and the ability to translate numbers into actionable business insights to drive budgeting, forecasting and investor reporting in a fast-paced startup.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in finance and accounts, preferably in startups or inventory-led businesses.
• Strong hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting and monthly closure.
• Proven ability in MIS, P&L analysis and financial reporting.
• Solid understanding of cost structures, margins and variance analysis.
• Expertise in GST, TDS and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP/accounting software such as Tally or Zoho Books.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting and monthly financial closure.
• Prepare and drive monthly MIS, P&L, cash flow and management reports for founders.
• Analyze revenue, COGS, margins and profitability trends.
• Track budget vs actuals, variances and cost optimization opportunities.
• Manage inventory accounting, stock reconciliation and reporting.
• Handle marketplace, payment gateway and COD reconciliations across channels.
• Manage GST, TDS, statutory compliance and audits with external teams.
• Monitor AP, AR, vendor payments and working capital.
• Support financial planning, forecasting, fundraising and investor reporting.
• Build and improve finance processes, MIS systems and controls.
• Mentor junior accounts staff and ensure process discipline.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager Accounts & MIS to own the finance and accounting function at Zoomies. You will work closely with the founders and leadership team, managing end-to-end accounting, MIS, financial reporting, P&L and financial controls as we scale.

This is a high-ownership role suited for someone who has strong accounting fundamentals but also enjoys using numbers to understand business performance and drive better financial decisions.

What You’ll Do

• Own end-to-end accounting and monthly financial closure, ensuring accurate books and financial statements.
• Prepare and drive monthly MIS, P&L, cash flow and management reports for the founders.
• Analyze revenue, COGS, margins, expenses and profitability to identify key business trends.
• Track budget vs. actuals, financial variances and cost optimization opportunities.
• Manage inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, COGS and inventory reporting.
• Handle and review marketplace, payment gateway and COD reconciliations across D2C, Amazon, Flipkart and Quick Commerce.
• Manage/coordinate GST, TDS, statutory compliance and audits with external CA/audit teams.
• Monitor AP, AR, vendor payments and working capital.
• Support financial planning, forecasting, fundraising and investor reporting.
• Build and improve finance processes, controls and MIS/reporting systems as the business grows.
• Manage and mentor junior accounts team members and ensure accuracy and process discipline.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in a startup, D2C, e-commerce, FMCG or other inventory-led business.
• Strong hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting and monthly closure.
• Proven experience in MIS, P&L analysis and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of cost structures, profitability, margins and variance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS and statutory compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software such as Tally, Zoho Books or similar ERP systems.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert financial data into actionable business insights.
• Comfortable working independently, taking ownership and operating in a fast-paced startup environment.
• CA Inter / CA / B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance candidates with relevant experience are welcome.

Good to Have

• Experience in D2C/e-commerce, marketplace and payment gateway reconciliations.
• Experience with inventory-led businesses and SKU-level profitability.
• Exposure to financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience setting up finance processes and MIS systems from scratch.
• Experience working directly with founders or senior leadership.
