Job summary

Colombian Brew Coffee is seeking a hands‑on Finance Controller in Pune to lead the finance and accounts function during a growth phase. You will own financial reporting, cash flow, taxation, compliance, inventory accounting, and internal controls, aligning with founders and business heads to boost profitability and working capital.

The role covers MIS, channel profitability, ERP integration, and strong governance across quick‑commerce, e‑commerce, airlines and institutional accounts.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant with substantial controllership experience.
• Experience in D2C, FMCG, food manufacturing, retail or high‑volume distribution.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, audits, inventory accounting and working‑capital management.
• Experience with quick‑commerce, e‑commerce or institutional B2B accounts is highly desirable.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (Tally Prime, Zoho Books, SAP or similar).
• Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and Power Query.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and annual financial closing, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
• Ensure accurate books, reconciliations, provisions and ledger schedules.
• Establish accounting policies and internal controls; keep audit readiness.
• Prepare channel‑wise revenue, gross margin and profitability reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing and commercial decisions.
• Manage cash flows, receivables/payables, inventory and working capital.
• Oversee channel reconciliations with marketplaces and institutional clients.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands‑on Finance Controller to lead the finance and accounts function during a period of rapid growth.

The company operates across quick-commerce platforms, e‑commerce marketplaces, airlines, defence and institutional accounts. The Finance Controller will own financial reporting, cash flow, taxation, compliance, inventory accounting, commercial finance and internal controls.

This role will work closely with the founders and business heads to improve profitability, working capital and financial discipline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Controllership

• Own monthly and annual financial closing, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
• Ensure accurate books of accounts, reconciliations, provisions and ledger schedules.
• Establish accounting policies, approval matrices and internal financial controls.
• Ensure the finance function remains audit‑ready throughout the year.

2. MIS and Commercial Finance

• Prepare weekly and monthly channel‑wise revenue, gross margin and contribution‑margin reports.
• Analyse SKU‑wise, customer‑wise and channel‑wise profitability.
• Identify margin leakage from commissions, promotions, logistics, damages, returns and deductions.
• Support leadership with budgeting, forecasting, pricing and commercial decisions.

3. Cash Flow and Working Capital

• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts and ensure adequate liquidity.
• Monitor receivables, payables, inventory and customer credit limits.
• Drive timely collections from platforms, airlines and institutional customers.
• Coordinate with banks for working‑capital facilities and other requirements.

4. Channel Reconciliations

• Oversee settlements for Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Amazon and other marketplaces.
• Review commissions, promotions, listing fees, returns, damages and credit notes.
• Track disputed deductions and recover unsupported charges.
• Ensure accurate PO‑to‑invoice matching and collections for airlines, defence and institutional customers.

5. Inventory and Manufacturing Controls

• Own accounting for raw materials, packaging materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods.
• Monitor COGS, product costing, yields, wastage and manufacturing variances.
• Lead physical stock audits and reconcile inventory with ERP records.
• Identify slow‑moving, obsolete and damaged inventory.

6. Taxation and Compliance

• Oversee GST, TDS/TCS, e‑invoicing, e‑way bills and other statutory compliances.
• Ensure timely filing of returns and payment of statutory dues.
• Coordinate statutory audits, tax audits, assessments and year‑end closure.
• Resolve audit observations and strengthen financial controls.

7. Systems and Team Leadership

• Automate reconciliations, dashboards and financial workflows.
• Improve ERP integration across sales, inventory, procurement and banking.
• Lead the finance and accounts team and establish clear closure timelines.
• Work closely with sales, operations, procurement, production and leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

• Chartered Accountant with 712 years of relevant experience. Strong Inter‑CA candidates with substantial controllership experience may also be considered.
• Experience in D2C, FMCG, food manufacturing, retail or high‑volume distribution.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, audits, inventory accounting and working‑capital management.
• Experience with quick‑commerce, e‑commerce or institutional B2B accounts is highly desirable.
• Advanced proficiency in Tally Prime, Zoho Books, SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Expert‑level Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and Power Query.
• Commercially sharp, detail‑oriented and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, founder‑led business.
