Finance Controller - Finance &Accounts
Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned andresults-oriented Finance Controller to lead and manage the Finance & Accounts function of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivatedself-starter with strong technical accounting expertise, a keen eye for detail,and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment. The FinanceController will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity,regulatory compliance, and operational excellence while partnering closely withbusiness stakeholders.
The position reports directly to theChief Financial Officer (CFO).
Key Responsibilities
- Assume end-to-end ownership of the organization'saccounting and financial reporting processes.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations,bookkeeping activities, and maintenance of accurate books of accounts inaccordance with IGAAP and Ind AS.
- Prepare periodic financial statements and ensuretimely completion of statutory, internal, and external audits with minimalaudit observations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact forauditors and coordinate audit requirements efficiently.
Regulatory & Tax Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all applicablestatutory and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee timely filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax,and other statutory returns.
- Monitor changes in accounting, taxation, andregulatory frameworks and ensure appropriate implementation within theorganization.
Technical Accounting & Controls
- Review and interpret business contracts,commercial arrangements, and agreements, and translate their financialimplications into appropriate accounting treatments in compliance withapplicable accounting standards.
- Establish and strengthen internal controls,accounting policies, and financial governance frameworks to safeguardorganizational assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvement in accountingprocesses, controls, and reporting efficiencies.
Treasury & Banking Operations
- Manage banking relationships and act as the keyliaison for routine banking operations.
- Oversee accounting and reconciliation ofreceipts, payments, investments, and other treasury transactions.
- Ensure effective cash management and supportliquidity planning activities.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functionalteams including Operations, Business, Compliance, Risk, Legal, andTechnology.
- Provide financial insights and support tomanagement in decision-making processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships withauditors, consultants, banking partners, and regulatory authorities.
Desired Experience & Skills
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and ManagementAccountant (CMA) with 12+ years of progressive experience in Finance &Accounts.
- Prior experience in the BFSI sector ormultinational organizations will be an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of Indian GAAP(IGAAP), Ind AS, taxation, and corporate regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in preparation, review,and audit of financial statements under both IGAAP and Ind AS frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage audits with a focus onaccuracy, compliance, and timely closure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills withthe ability to evaluate complex business situations and determineappropriate accounting treatment.
- Excellent attention to detail, sound professionaljudgment, and a commitment to financial integrity.
- Effective stakeholder management, communication,and presentation skills with the ability to influence and collaborateacross all levels of the organization.
- Strong planning, organizational, and timemanagement skills with a track record of meeting critical deadlines.
- Hands-on experience with ERP and accountingsystems, along with proficiency in financial reporting tools and MicrosoftExcel.
Qualifications
- CA or CMA qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant post-qualificationexperience in Finance & Accounts, including financial reporting,taxation, audit coordination, and compliance management.
