Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. Pune is seeking a Data Centre Support Technician who will manage rack elevations, hardware inventory, and deployment of server equipment (HP ProLiant, Dell PowerEdge). You will collaborate with vendors, ensure power and cooling setup, and maintain uptime.

The role requires 2–3 years for L1 and 3–5 years for L2, a Bachelor’s degree, ITIL awareness, and experience with ServiceNow. Rotational shifts, travel may be required, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an authorized university.
• Server certification is a plus.
• 2–3 years for L1, 3–5 years for L2.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Basic ITIL knowledge (SLA, CHG, Incident, Problem).
• Knowledge of ticketing tool ServiceNow.
• Willingness for 24x7 rotational shifts.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rack elevation for new device installs.
• Govern rack, power and cable connectivity for server/network equipment.
• Manage hardware inventory for data centre.
• Review hardware failure trends and uptime reports.
• Coordinate with vendors for network/server equipment.
• Configure and install network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).

• Handle device movement and disposal of EOL assets.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Preparation of Rack elevation for new device installation.
• Must have strong knowledge of HP ProLiant\\Blade, Oracle and Dell PowerEdge servers.
• Sound knowledge of general Health & Safety of devices in Data Centre.
• Governance for the rack & stack, power & Cable connectivity for Server / network equipment.
• Overview of hardware and Data Centre activity.
• Review for Hardware Failures Trend Analysis, Hardware Uptime report.
• Complete device inventory management for DATA CENTRE.
• Understanding of Data Centre environment (Power, Cooling, Security, Processes ETC.)
• Vendor / OEM coordination for Network / Server equipment.
• Device movement, redeployment of the assets and disposal of EOL assets.
• Understanding of LTO media, tape library, media backup and restore.
• Tickets / SLA management.
• Overview of hardware and tech room activity
• Review for Hardware Failures Trend Analysis
• Power Load & Consumption Details
• Vendor coordination for Network and Fiber Cabling for Tech rooms
• Device movement, redeployment of the assets and disposal of EOL assets

• Bachelor’s degree from an authorized university.
• Relevant server certification will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 2-3yrs of exp for L1 position and 3-5yrs of exp for L2 position.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Basic understanding of ITIL Framework is a must (SLA, CHG, Problem, and incident mgmt.)
• Knowledge on ticketing tool preferrable ServiceNow.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts 24*7 environment.
