Job summary

Nidec Conversion is seeking a Field Service Engineer to proactively identify and resolve engineering and manufacturing issues in MV drives. You will diagnose root causes, perform repairs, and test faulty equipment following safety guidelines.

You will also maintain tools, calibrations, and records, while communicating technical details clearly to customers. Engage with clients and internal teams, document all repairs, and provide on-site or remote assessments as required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and resolve engineering and manufacturing related issues and have a thorough understanding of MV drives.
• Diagnose and identify the root causes of equipment malfunctions.
• Perform repairs and testing on faulty equipment, following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Replacement of faulty components with new components or systems on repair.
• Maintaining the tools and assets of repair centre and make sure they are duly calibrated maintain all records of proper functionality.
• Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to customers.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including timesheets, service reports, repair logs, and customer communications.

• Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to customers.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including timesheets, service reports, repair logs, and customer communications.
• Document all repairs, related updates, and maintenance tasks performed on each.
• Collaborate closely with in-house engineers with product and NPD team and functionality of drive systems.
• Collaborating with internal teams (e.g., engineering, product, sales, customer support).
• Assessing and troubleshooting technical issues with equipment or systems.
• Performing on-site or remote assessment, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades if required and Provide emergency field service for customers on an as needed basis.
• Ready to give phone support (as and when required - mandatory) on providing technical support to customers, answering queries, and addressing concerns if needed.
