Job summary

DATOMS is seeking a Service Engineer on a 1-year contract to support our IoT equipment in Chennai. The role involves on-site installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs of designated equipment.

You will perform preventative maintenance, manage spare parts, keep service logs, and maintain clear communication with customers to ensure timely resolution and follow-up. Freshers are welcome, and a bike with license is required.

Qualifications

• ITI in a related trade is required.

• Based in or willing to work in Chennai region.
• Private bike and valid driving license are mandatory.
• Basic MS Office skills required.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities :

The Service Engineer performs the major functions listed below. The position may require additional duties/responsibilities that may not be outlined below, and specific functions are subject to change:

• Basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair on designated equipment.
• Completing Preventative Maintenance and field modifications.
• Ordering and managing repair parts cycle times.
• Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.
• Maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
• Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• ITI (Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Wireman, or a related trade).
• Freshers are welcome to apply.
• Basic knowledge or academic exposure to IoT is preferred.
• Must be based in or willing to work in the Chennai region.
• Possession of a private bike is mandatory.
• Valid driving license is required.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, responsible, and willing to travel to customer sites.
• Basic computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
