Job summary

ABB Motion in Bengaluru, India is seeking a field service engineer to perform on-site service tasks with low to medium complexity, following ABB processes and safety guidelines. You will identify opportunities to improve operations, troubleshoot HV motors, and plan material lists for service activities while travelling frequently.

This role reports to the Service Team Leader and offers growth in technical expertise within ABB's motion business.

Qualifications

• HV motors installation testing and commissioning knowledge required.
• Experience in repairing and troubleshooting HV motors.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• Good communication skills (English) and customer handling.
• Strong technical knowledge of ABB products.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute on-site service work of low to medium complexity per instructions.
• Perform field service tasks, identify issues, and analyse remotely or on-site.
• Prepare material lists for service activities and ensure parts/equipment availability.
• Troubleshoot equipment/process failures and suggest corrective actions.

This Position reports to: Service Team Leader

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.

This role is contributing to the Motion business based at Bangalore, India:

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points.
• Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
• Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
• Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.
