• Oversee fermentation processes for antibiotics, statins, enzymes and other secondary metabolites.
• Serve as Shift Manager, directing all shift activities to meet production needs.
• Prepare the inoculum production schedule.
• Guide inoculum development and in-process microbiology work.
• Ensure inoculum is produced as per schedule and quality standards.
• Subculture and maintain mother and working cultures of industrial strains.
• Follow SOPs and policies for Production Microbiology.
• Coordinate sampling with Production and QC and report results.
• Suggest corrective actions for deviations in cost, time, quality.
• Understand regulatory requirements and ensure compliant processes.
• Reduce lab wastages per safety and environmental rules.
• Manage the Production Microbiology and in-process teams with time, cost, quality awareness.
• Provide leadership and inclusive growth opportunities.
• Understand process and equipment validation.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for microbiology processes.
• Maintain all BMRs for microbiology processes.
• Be responsible for microbiology budget.
• Represent Microbiology dept in ISO audits and client audits.

Role & responsibilities

• Working in fermentation industries with antibiotic, statin, enzymes and other secondary metabolites production through classical fermentation.
• 1. Working as Shift Manger and handling the entire shift activities based on the production requirement on time
• 2. Drawing up the complete inoculum production schedule.
• 3. Overseeing and guiding inoculum development and In process Microbiology related work.
• 4. Ensuring inoculum is developed as per the production schedule, on time and maintaining predetermined quality standards.
• 5. Responsible for subculturing and maintaining Mother cultures, working cultures of industrial strains.
• 6. Following policies and procedures related to Production Microbiology process.
• 7. Closely working with Production and QC for sampling schedule and communicating results.
• 8. Monitoring and suggesting corrective action for any deviation in cost, time and quality
• 9. Understanding the regulatory environment and creating and maintaining the process in accordance with it.
• 10. Reduction and management of Lab wastages as per safety & environmental regulations.
• 11. Managing the entire Production Microbiology and In process Microbiology team and maintaining awareness about time, cost and quality.
• 12. Being a leader providing inclusive growth opportunity to the team.
• 13. Understanding process and equipment validation.
• 14. Developing, maintaining, and ensuring all SOPs for the Microbiology processes are followed.
• 15. Maintaining all BMRs for the Microbiology processes.

• 18. Should have handled team monitoring and lead them in the deliverables
