Job summary

Biocon seeks a fermentation operations professional to manage large-scale fermentation units and associated equipment at Vishakhapatnam and Bangalore sites. You will operate fermenters and NDVs, perform calibration checks, and ensure compliance with SOPs and batch records.

Responsibilities include cleaning, material handling, line clearance coordination with QA, and coordinating with maintenance and other departments to maintain production continuity.

Qualifications

• Chemistry, Chemical, Life science, Science background required.

• Operate 100L, 1kL, 10kL and 100kL fermenters and related tanks and pumps via DCS system.
• Clean equipment/accessories according to cleaning checklist and procedures.
• Record and monitor manufacturing operations per BMR/checklist.

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible to Operate the 100L,1kL,10kL and 100kL fermenters, 5kL , 10kL NDVs, CIP tanks ,broth kill tank, Pumps through DCS system
• Responsible for Clean the equipment/accessories as per equipment cleaning checklist/approved procedures
• Responsible for all the manufacturing operations as per respective BMR/Checklist routine monitoring and recording of documents as per approved procedures
• Responsible for receiving, dispensing, storage of Raw Material / in process materials
• Performing necessary calibration/verification and recording of documents as per approved procedures
• Performing production activities as per standard operating procedures.
• Ensuring preventive maintenance and instrument calibration are with in due dates.
• Maintaining equipment surface area in cleaned condition.
• Online updating of logbooks/status board with respect to area/equipment/accessories.
• Co -ordination with QA for line clearance during product change over
• Co-Ordination with other department related to production activities
• Handling of procedure and shut down & startup in production facility
• Maintenance of Production equipment in coordination with Instrumentation / Engineering and maintenance Department.
• Handling of batch failures related to fermentation products
• Responsible for performing / excute the Passivation activities
• Adhering to EHS policy and safety quidelines Zero tolerance policy and Code of conduct policy
