Job summary

Sterling Biotech seeks an Executive Fermentation Production to lead fermentation operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety and regulatory compliance. You will supervise production teams, plan batches, and optimize processes across large-scale systems (20 L to 150 KL).

You will maintain documentation, investigations, CAPA, and coordinate with QA/QC, analytics, and Downstream Processing while aligning with cGMP standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on fermentation in industrial settings.
• Experience with large-scale fermenters (20 L to 150 KL) and batch/fed-batch processes.
• Familiarity with cGMP guidelines and production documentation.
• Exposure to IQ/OQ/PQ documentation and CAPA processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production teams and plan/execute fermentation batches.
• Troubleshoot large-scale fermenters and optimize processes.
• Monitor fed-batch and harvest systems; ensure product quality and safety.
• Maintain production documentation, deviations and CAPA.
• Support P&ID reviews,URS, IQ/OQ/PQ activities and ERP-based production tasks.
• Coordinate with downstream processing, analytics, QA and QC teams.

Job description

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional for Executive / Senior Executive Fermentation Production to manage fermentation operations while ensuring efficiency, product quality, safety, regulatory compliance and adherence to cGMP guidelines
• The role involves supervising production teams, planning and executing production batches, troubleshooting large-scale fermenters (20 L to 150 KL), monitoring fed-batch and harvest systems, and optimizing fermentation processes for pharmaceutical intermediate production
• Responsibilities also include production documentation, deviation investigations and CAPA, support for P&ID review, URS, IQ, OQ and PQ documentation, commissioning and qualification activities, ERP-based production activities, and coordination with Downstream Processing, Analytical Development, Microbiology, QA and QC teams
• The position requires strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational and communication skills

Work Experience Required: 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in industrial fermentation, preferably in large-scale shift operations

Qualification: UG: B.Tech / B.E. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology; PG: M.Tech in Biochemistry/Biotechnology, MS/M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry
