Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Engineer with 5 years of experience in the sheet metal industry. The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, production drawings, welding, bending, cutting, and shop-floor activities. AutoCAD knowledge is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily sheet metal fabrication and production activities.
• Read and understand AutoCAD drawings and engineering drawings.
• Ensure fabrication work is carried out according to drawings and specifications.
• Handle sheet metal processes including:
• Laser cutting
• CNC punching
• Shearing
• Press brake bending
• Welding
• Grinding
• Drilling
• Assembly
• Check dimensions, bend angles, hole positions, fit-up, and material thickness.
• Coordinate with fitters, welders, machine operators, and production workers.
• Monitor production quality and minimize rework and rejection.
• Identify and resolve fabrication-related problems on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments.
• Ensure proper utilization of material, manpower, and machines.
• Maintain production schedules and ensure timely completion of jobs.
• Follow company quality and safety procedures.

Required Skills

• 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and understand 2D engineering/fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of MS and SS sheet metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of welding, bending, cutting, drilling, and grinding.
• Understanding of sheet thickness, bend radius, tolerances, and measurements.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, measuring tape, and angle gauge.
• Good shop-floor coordination and manpower-handling skills.

Qualification

• ITI Fitter, with relevant sheet metal experience, OR
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
