Job summary

Walplast Products is seeking a Chemical Lab Specialist with 2-5 years of experience in paint formulation and development. The role focuses on innovation, product quality, and compliance with industry standards.

You will conduct benchmarking, develop new formulations, test raw materials, and support market trials. Strong lab skills with gloss meters, spectrophotometers, viscosity testers, and content analyzers are essential.

Qualifications

• Paint formulation and development expertise.
• Ability to design and adjust paint formulations for performance, durability and standards compliance.
• Experience with laboratory testing and material analysis.

Responsibilities

• Create additional features for products through research and innovation.
• Benchmark competitors to enhance paint properties and quality.

• Develop new formulations and reduce costs in existing ones.
• Test incoming raw materials and standardize them; test outsourced samples.
• Scale up manufacturing batches and conduct root cause analysis for complaints.
• Support sales and marketing during market trials.
• Maintain lab safety and 5S practices.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Create additional features for the products through research, innovation, and existing research and/or technology.
• Conducting competitors benchmarking to compare properties of paint and enhance product quality.
• Creating long term product quality and durability by continual product research, testing and innovation.
• New formulation development. Should carryout cost reduction activities in existing formulations.
• Testing of incoming raw material, standardizing raw materials. Testing & application of outsourced samples.
• Manufacturing of scale up batches, pilot batches. Customer complaint analysis, root cause analysis, problem solving Understanding IS or EN or ASTM standards and execution in daily work.
• Implementation for product testing & application, use of instrument.
• Support to sales and marketing during market trial stage.
• Maintain safety standard in lab. Maintain 5S in lab

Preferred candidate profile

• Education - M.Sc Chemistry/ B.E/ B.Tech / Chemical Paints
• Experience -2-5 Years
• Technical Skills - Paint Formulation & Development. Ability to design and adjust paint formulations for performance, durability, and compliance with standards
• Handson experience with lab equipment such as gloss meters, spectrophotometers, viscosity testers, and solid content analyzers.
