Job summary

KSB is seeking a Plant Controller to oversee inventory valuation and consumption accounting, ensuring master parameters and cost rates are maintained in the IT system and that monthly valuation is compliant with accounting standards and group guidelines.

The role supports performance management, decision support, compliance, and process improvements by delivering accurate analyses, tracking KPIs, and driving cost reductions.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in the relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Inventory valuation & consumption accounting - Ensure that master parameters & various cost rates are maintained in IT system to facilitate inventory valuation, consumption accounting as well as for any other use; and carry out monthly inventory valuation & consumption accounting in compliance with relevant accounting & reporting standards, group and internal guidelines.
• Support Plant Controller to manage the performance of the organizational unit on MBO principle regarding product/project margins, failure cost, inventory etc., by providing accurate calculations and tracking KPIs; plan, monitor, and report targets; identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Provide analytical information to support decision-making with robust justification and timely conclusions.
• Ensure compliance through audits (statutory, cost, internal, NSS) and explain transactions with adequate justification; support plant controller in statutory compliances.
• Identify and implement cost-reduction ideas and automate routine activities; introduce system-based controls to replace manual controls.

Job description

1. Role & responsibilities

1 Inventory valuation & consumption accounting - Ensure that various master parameters & various cost rates are maintained in IT system to facilitate inventory valuation, consumption accounting as well as for any other use; and carry out Monthly inventory valuation & consumption accounting in compliance with a. Relevant accounting & reporting standards b. Group as well as Internal guidelines.

2 Performance management Support Plant Controller to manage the performance of the organizational unit on MBO (management by objective) principle regarding product/project margins, failure cost, inventory etc. by providing accurate & appropriate calculations a. Plan the relevant KPI (key performance indicators) for the forthcoming year / quarter and set the targets b. Track the actual performance on these KPI on comparable basis c. Identify the performance gap along with cause-effect relationship d. Discuss with the stakeholders responsible for the corrective actions e. Track the implementation of the actions & its intended vs. actual effects on the KPI.

3 Decision support - Support the decision-making process by providing analytical information as per desired accuracy level & timeliness accompanied by own conclusion / recommendation backed by robust justification.

4 Compliance - ensure audit (statutory audit, cost audit, internal audit, NSS audit etc.) of all the relevant figures with sufficient explanations & justification regarding fairness of the transactions (qualitative & quantitative); support plant controller in ensuring overall statutory compliances in the plant.

5 Process improvement - identify & implement ideas of cost reduction, automations in routine activities, introduction of system-based controls in place of manual controls etc.

Preferred candidate profile
