Job Description: Costing Executive (Plant-Based)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Costing Executive (CMA) to join our plant finance team. Based directly at our manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for overseeing product costing, variance analysis and budget control. You will partner closely with the plant operations, production, and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Product Costing & BOM Management: Maintain and update Standard Costing systems. Review and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing changes to ensure accurate product cost rollups.
Variance Analysis: Conduct monthly variance analysis (Material, Labor, and Overhead variances) comparing actual costs against standards. Investigate discrepancies and collaborate with shop-floor managers for corrective actions.
Operational Cost Control: Monitor plant expenses, scrap rates, yields, and capacity utilization. Identify areas of waste and drive cost-reduction initiatives across production lines.
MIS & Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly plant MIS reports, including cost sheets, margin analysis by product/segment, and plant profitability statements for the management.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with plant operations and department heads to prepare the annual plant budget and operational expenditure (OPEX) budgets forecasts. Monitor actual spends against budget monthly and provide regular rolling forecasts.
Audits & Compliance: Assist in smooth conduct of Cost Audits and Statutory Audits related to inventory and plant accounting. Ensure compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
Education: CMA (Certified Management Accountant) / ICWA Qualified is mandatory.
Experience: 3 to 6 years of core costing experience within a manufacturing plant environment (e.g., Automobile, Engineering, Chemicals, FMCG, or Process industries).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP - FI/CO module preferred).
Advanced skills in MS Excel (Pivots, VLOOKUPs, Financial Modeling).
Strong understanding of standard costing, absorption costing, and activity-based costing methodologies.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical abilities with an eye for detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with shop-floor engineers and corporate finance alike.
Resilience and adaptability to work in a dynamic plant environment.
