Job summary

Jodas Expoim is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to support inventory valuation, BOM analysis, and product costing within the finance team in Hyderabad. This role emphasizes cost control and accurate management reporting.

You will coordinate physical inventories, reconcile stock with ERP records, and prepare cost sheets and variance analyses for management, working closely with production, procurement, and warehouse teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform inventory valuation (FIFO/Weighted Avg) and support month-end/year-end reporting.
• Maintain and validate Bills of Materials (BOM) ensuring accuracy.
• Conduct product costing including standard, actual costing, and variance analysis.
• Plan physical inventories and stock audits across warehouses/plants.
• Identify obsolete inventory and coordinate liquidation as needed.
• Reconcile physical counts with ERP/SAP records and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare cost sheets, variance reports, and aging analyses for management.
• Support auditors with inventory schedules and documentation.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure costing accuracy.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant with 14 years of experience in inventory valuation, BOM (Bill of Materials) analysis, product costing, and physical inventory management. The ideal candidate will support cost control, inventory accuracy, and management reporting functions within the finance/accounts team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inventory valuation in line with applicable accounting standards (FIFO/Weighted Average) and ensure accurate month-end/year-end inventory reporting
• Maintain and validate Bills of Materials (BOM); ensure BOM accuracy against actual production consumption
• Conduct product costing - standard costing, actual costing, and variance analysis (material, labor, overhead)
• Plan, coordinate, and execute physical inventory verification/stock audits across warehouses/plants
• Identify and report non-moving, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory; recommend provisioning as per company policy
• Drive inventory liquidation processes for non-moving/obsolete stock, coordinating with sales/procurement teams
• Reconcile physical stock counts with system records (ERP/SAP) and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare cost sheets, cost variance reports, and inventory ageing analysis for management review
• Support internal/statutory auditors with inventory-related schedules and documentation
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure costing accuracy and inventory control

Required Skills & Qualifications

• CMA (Inter/Qualified)
• 1-4 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of inventory valuation methods, BOM structures, and product costing techniques
• Hands-on experience with physical inventory verification and stock reconciliation
• Experience identifying and managing non-moving/obsolete inventory and liquidation processes
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/similar) and advanced MS Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills to coordinate across cross-functional teams (production, warehouse, procurement)

Preferred

• Exposure to standard costing and variance analysis in a plant/factory setting
