Job summary

The Cost Accountant & Inventory Controller at CIRCOR International, Inc. India Pumps business will oversee standard costing, inventory governance, and accurate financial reporting.

You will collaborate with operations, procurement, and supply chain to drive cost visibility and optimize working capital. You should have CMA/Cost Accountant qualification and 5+ years in finance, cost accounting, and inventory control in manufacturing, with SAP and strong analytical skills to enable reliable plant

Qualifications

• Cost Accountant CMA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in cost accounting, inventory control and finance in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Cost Accounting & Product Costing: maintain standard costing, BOM and routing; perform cost roll-ups and revisions.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances with actionable insights; monitor PPV and usage variances.
• Support new product costing, tenders and pricing decisions; ensure correct absorption of manufacturing overheads.
• Inventory Control & Governance: record and value Raw Materials, WIP, Finished Goods; reconcile ERP with physical stock.
• Monitor inventory sub-ledger vs GL balances; report slow/non-moving/obsolete inventory; prepare related journals.
• Physical Inventory & Cycle Counts: design cycle counts, resolve discrepancies, coordinate with plant/auditors.
• Business Partnering & Operational Support: collaborate with plant ops, procurement, supply chain; drive lean inventory and reporting improvements.

Job description

The Cost Accountant & Inventory Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate product costing, robust inventory control, and reliable financial reporting in India Pumps business. The role will drive cost visibility, strengthen inventory governance, support plant performance, and ensure compliance with group guidelines, while working closely with operations, procurement, and supply chain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cost Accounting & Product Costing

• Maintain and update standard costing for all products, including BOM and routing structures
• Perform cost roll-ups and periodic revisions based on raw material, labor, and overhead changes
• Analyze material, labor, overhead, and production variances with actionable insights
• Monitor PPV (Purchase Price Variance) and usage variances
• Support new product costing / tenders / pricing decisions
• Ensure accurate classification and absorption of manufacturing overheads

Inventory Control & Governance

• Ensure accurate recording and valuation of Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods
• Drive inventory reconciliation between ERP and physical stock on a periodic basis
• Ensure appropriate reconciliation between inventory sub-ledger and GL balances
• Monitor and report slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory
• Prepare and analyze inventory-related journal entries and reconciliations
• Ensure proper accounting and provisioning (e.g., LCM/NRV adjustments)
• Review and validate inventory ageing reports
• Support working capital optimization through inventory reduction initiatives

Physical Inventory & Cycle Counts

• Design and oversee cycle count procedures and annual stock counts
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and shrinkage
• Ensure adherence to inventory count SOPs and documentation guidelines
• Coordinate with plant and auditors during physical verification exercises
• Support month-end closing activities related to inventory and cost accounting
• Provide inputs for group reporting and MIS (inventory and cost metrics)
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies

Business Partnering & Operational Support

• Work closely with plant operations, procurement, and supply chain teams
• Provide insights on:
• Cost reduction opportunities
• Inventory optimization
• Drive initiatives for lean inventory and operational excellence
• Ensure effective utilization of ERP systems for inventory and costing
• Participate in ERP implementation / enhancements initiatives
• Standardize and document inventory & costing processes across plants
• Automate reports and improve data accuracy and reporting timeliness
