Job summary

DS Group’s dairy plant seeks a Shift In-Charge to lead end-to-end production during the assigned shift, ensuring adherence to production plans, product quality, food safety, and SOP compliance. You will supervise daily activities, coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and other departments to maintain uninterrupted operations.

You will manage manpower, maintain records, uphold hygiene and cleanliness, and drive continuous improvement through SOP adherence and team training.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily production activities as per the production schedule and shift requirements.
• Manage and monitor dairy processing operations including milk reception, chilling, pasteurization, homogenization, processing, packing, CIP, and related activities.
• Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining product quality and minimizing wastage.
• Monitor critical process parameters and ensure timely corrective action in case of deviations.
• Ensure strict compliance with GMP, GHP, HACCP, food safety standards, SOPs, and company policies.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Procurement, Dispatch, and other departments for uninterrupted operations.
• Allocate manpower effectively across production areas and monitor employee productivity and discipline.
• Ensure proper operation, cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping of processing and packing areas.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for breakdowns and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Monitor consumption and minimize wastage of milk, ingredients, packaging materials, utilities, and other resources.
• Maintain shift-wise production, downtime, wastage, cleaning, and other operational records.
• Conduct shift handover and ensure clear communication of pending issues, equipment status, production status, and quality concerns.
• Ensure safe working practices and compliance with EHS requirements.
• Investigate production deviations, breakdowns, quality issues, and process losses and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Support audits, inspections, trials, new product development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and guide operators and workers on SOPs, hygiene, safety, equipment operation, and good manufacturing practices.
